...and should have it next week.

After spending the weekend with my son down in the Texas Hill County he pulled me aside and said I was going to have to get off the two wheeled motorcycle. He went on to say that my legs are becoming so weak that I was afraid to control and ride the bike at slow speeds. I had fallen over once on the trip.

With out going into all of it I knew he was right and I've known that this day was coming for over two years. I'm 73 years old and have to walk with a cane. He told my wife and we all had a little set to about it. They had done some checking and felt I would be able to handle a trike quite well. This was bad news as I sure didn't want to have to go to a trike.

But the alternative was even more displeasing--I was going to have to give up a sport I had been into since I was thirteen years old.
That's a little over 55 years I have been enjoying motorcycling.

So I go pick up my GL 1800 trike next Wednesday. I have owned two Goldwings over the years so at least I know a little of what I'm getting into. I had to sell my '08 GW two years ago because it became too heavy for me.

When I pick it up I've got a 250 mile ride ahead of me before I'm home. Since I will be breaking in a new motor as well as a new rider all of those miles will be fairly slow and varied.

I hope it works out for me.
