    Finally ... rear passenger audio controls. I've already heard that 3 different wives are buying them for their husbands. Wow ... wish I had one that would do that

    Showed the unveiling video to Gloria. She has always said if they come out with an automatic tranny she wants a GW triked for herself. She almost called up Doug at Roadsmith - don't know if she was going to put her name on a list for a conversion or what, but I told her it will be a while until they are out and the trike makers can get one in their hands to design the kit. Until then we can see one in the showroom in a few months and she can start saving now.

    We are planning on going full time RV sometime after I retire next year, so we'll be downsizing - I think she is already thinking about selling the Road Hawk, our '04 GL1800 Champion and probably the Harley to finance a chunk of the new trike. She likes the FB6 look of the stripped down model, and she said all she would like to add is a set of wind wings (after she rides one to see how the wind flows), a rider and passenger backrest and a luggage rack to go there the trunk would be on the Tour.

    Hmm... I wonder if i should start a GoFundMe account?

    At least they finally changed the front end. That in itself may be worth the upgrade.

    Me Im stuck with the 2010. Age and finances. Id rather have a new Camaro SS then a bike. Not hard choice for me............

    Gonna take some doin' to design a rake kit for the new front end. Looks as if it would ride really well on a 2-wheeler, plus would have to compensate for the different ride settings.

    Looking at the picture I'm thinking in order to rake the new front end the part marked "Front Fork" would be replaced with one that is lengthened to keep the ride height the same and modified to increase the angle. In order to keep the wheel travel unchanged, (straight up and down as opposed to back toward the bike as on telescopic forks) everything up from the bottom of the "Front Fork Holder" would stay the same.

    That may be completely off - I am not in any sense an engineer, nor do I play one on TV, but just looking it that seems to be the simplest way to rake the front end. The front fork is a major piece of the suspension, and if it is lengthened brake lines may have to get longer too. I have a feeling rake kits for the 2018's and up will be more than a little spendier.

    I've had 4 Goldwings early on and the latest one I had was a 1989. I lost interest in them mostly because I rented a Harley in Hawaii while on vacation; and then owned a few Harley's, 1st a Fat Boy, then Road King, then Ultra Classic which I had triked by Hannigan.

    This new Goldwing I can easily see in my garage, especially since I'll be doing a lot of solo touring after my retirement next year.

    I think they have really upped their game with this one. I am looking forward to testing it out. I like it a lot.

    But...how to justify 3 bikes...I've got time...

    2 summers ago, my gf and I pulled a Bushtec trailer and took a 14,000 mile trip on my Wing. There is no way I would do a trip like that unless it was on a Wing. For me ... reliability is paramount. There were a few times we had no cell service for days, and sometimes we'd be traveling on back roads and not see a car for hours. On one road there was a sign that said, "no gas for 186 miles." We passed 1 car on that road.

    Enjoy your travels, and I'm glad to hear that you have renewed interest in traveling on a GoldWing.
