    Default 5 Months and Holding...

Well it has been 5 months since a placed my order for a Stallion and still no word on a tentative delivery date. My dealership says that TMS is still experiencing problems with getting certain parts. Short of calling TMS myself, does anyone have knowledge as to what specfic part(s) are the problem? Inquiring minds would like to know...

Hi there Daydreamer-----If you ordered a 2010, they should be all built. Production of the 2011's should have started in November. What are you getting???

    Hey Dancerjim,

I'm getting a 2011, Black Cherry... I nicks the adjustable pedals and the A/C, but pretty much went with the rest of the factory options. I found that I had to have the pedals more all the way forward when I test drove one to be comfortable, so I didn't see the need of wasting money on a feature that I'll never use. The heat would have been nice to have but unfortunately one can't it without the A/C.

The weather here in SD has been unseasonably warm for this time of year. Hope that it remains so for a little longer. So far no snow, but that can change in the wink of an eye.

I trust that you're enjoying your Stallion:yay: Mine should be here possibly next month. Maybe just before Christmas. Let's hope!!!

I hear you regarding being able to ride in the winter, but in the snow, now that's another matter. No, I'm pretty much a fair weather rider. Temp's much below 55 degree will give me pause. Now that I'm in my early 60's, I find that I have to raise the temperature bar a bit. It's that or putting on a second pair of long-johns.

Hi Daydreamer, im having plenty of fun on the stallion. Love it. im sure you will too. I luck out when it came to ordering it. my dealer did not have any in stock but had two coming in, in 30 days. Just had to chage the color to my white that i wanted and received it in that time period. It was no fun waiting 30 days, so i feel for you. But it will be well worth the wait. good luck

My dealership wasn't very specific as to the reason or reasons why, other than saying simply due to parts availability. Be ashame if TMS would have to consider building the Stallion with a combination of Ford and GM parts. Not that the Stallion would be any more inferior or superior than it is right now. It's just that, I would think that warranty issues would be a big headache for TMS. Let's just hope that TMS gets this problem resolved as quickly as possible. Being from SD I can be somewhat more tolerant and patient then say other potential Stallion owners from many of our southern states who can expect to have more than a 4-5 month riding season. Having my Stallion ready in the next one or two months makes no difference to me. I'll be singing a different tune if I'm still Stallion-LESS, come spring, which starts in the month of June, here, for the benefit of you southern boys and gals.

oh yes' I am in my 70's and do not plan on stopping riding including my Ninja or Stallion no matter what the weather except rain if it is just a day trip, if on more that a day trip I carry rain suit in case it does rain. I have ridden in the 20 degree range past 70 years old.

If you are not getting the ac and you are going to be riding in the hot weather be prepared to roast if you sit in traffic. Your legs are wrapped around an engine, and when it is north of 90 degrees and you sit in traffic you will be very hot. You may want to consider baker wind wings to redirect the wind onto you while you ride. I don't like using the AC but I had no choice when I purchased the bike. I love the heat, and it is worth it for that.

It is my understanding that TBMS uses several parts manufactures. For example the mirrors are not ford, but that issue has not stopped them from backing their product with a great warranty and warranty service.

Welcome aboard RWS. My wife is the one that rides the Stallion. She has no CONS. It is perfect for her. We have had 2 and yes there are some issues. As in any start up project there are growing pains. TBMS STANDS 100% behind their product. Between the 2 Stallions she has riden almost 30k miles.

She has riden as much as 450 miles in one day and loves to ride. When we orginally purchased the Stallion I also purchased a trailer that it would fit into. Guess what that trailer sits because she wants to ride wherever we go. That is alot on PRO for the Stallion. The personal ability to contact the company owners that will stop and talk to you like your their close friend. PRO. Just walk up to Jeff or Diane Vey at any show and they will talk to you. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. Ride one you won't be sorry.

Hello RWS rider, Im a new triker myself, always rode 2 wheelers which i still do as a second choice. I just received my Stallion in late August and so far only have 2K miles on it, so far it's been trouble free. I think all the problems have been corrected, well i hope so anyway. not enough miles to tell. Gas milage it not what they claim tho. then again who cares I did not buy it for ecomony riding. Not much help, but hoping you get something from my few months.

RWS: We have a 2009 Black Cherry Stallion # 531. I can assure you that we love it. Jeff and Dianne Vey are simply wonderful people and will take care of any problem you might have. Nick from TBMS in texas will answer any question you have and all of the employees in Texas go the extra mile for their customers.. The Stallion owners are agreat group of people. ONLY one problem " NO SUCH THING" as a short stop for a minute . There is always a crowd with questions or just a photo. ..but you get use to that.. enjoy.... Charlie D & the IMP.

Well I took your advice, Randy and called TMS and spoke to Nick, who I might add, was as many of you have previously stated, very helpful and personable. I started this thread with the hopes find finding out what the reason(s) is/are for the delay in production of the 2011's. Nick stated that the delay is due to parts availability, which by the way he gave as the primary reason for the $3000+ increase in the base MSRP. He didn't elaborate on just what parts they are having difficulties with, nor did a ask. Nick invited me to call him back in about a month, as he strongly feels that things will be different and that he'll have some positive news.

Well in one month, that will make it "7+ months and holding" since I placed my order for a Stallion. Apparently even Santa isn't going to be of any help either, but I was hoping ! The final question that I asked Nick was if there will be any significant changes with the 2011 model and he said no there will none. So with that being said, the prospective Stallion owners, me included, will just have to be a bit more patient, which isn't too hard to do, as I look out our picture window at a scenery of WHITE.
