Newbee

Hello from beautiful Western North Carolina.....Two wheeler now triker, left leg issues...Ride 05 VTX1300/Motor-Trike. Enjoying the transition,, Few questions: this trike did not have a trailer receiver on it. Motor-Trike offers no after production install kits They weld them to the frame during production. Would a bolt on unit be okay if so does anyone know who makes a bolt on units or should I fabricate one from an extension tube and sheet steel with u-bolts.

This trunk is a DB model by Ridebikegear.com... Does anyone offer arm rests for that back seat .After market that will adapt to a VTX1300.

Thanks for all the good info so far. Would like some details on next year meet in Maggie Valley. That is my back yard John

Welcome!! Enjoy your ride, and ride safe. If shifting should ever be a problem, give me a holler and I would be happy to pass along what I know in the way of electronic shifters on the market. All the best.

There are no bolt on receiver hitches available for the VTX-1300 MT. The MT rear subframe is made from 1 1/2" OD round tubing and the only good way to mount one is to just buy a basic 15" receiver adapter (see pic) and weld it to the front and rear lower subframe tubes. Look under it and you'll see what Im talking about. An easy job for a good welder.

While youre at it, be sure and weld on a couple of safety chain loops on either side near the end of the hitch to secure your trailer chains.

Also there are no armrests available for your trunk that I am aware of.

Welcome aboard glad you joined us.

Just remember if you take it to have it welded to the Frame Tubes, MT recommends that the Body be seperated from the frame to prevent damage to the Trunk! It would also allow the space to slip some support brackets, for the receiver tube, over the frame.
And welcome to the Group...
Thanks for the advice.. I gather welding is way better that doing a bolt on with u clamps.
