That challenge has been beat. 14" Trike Series Shocks™ along with a Convertible Comfort Lift™ and the ride is completely changed.

Here's what Jerry said upon returning from the Ozarks-

TSS shocks I put on a couple of weeks ago. The trike's ride is improved incredibly.

My wife and I simply could not believe it was the same vehicle.

Btw, I've ridden a few wings, and some can am's...they are all different....choose which you like, then enjoy being out in the wind!

Thanks for all the comments from everyone. Really appreciate the link to the shocks and lift. I have been trying to figure out what it will cost to cool the bike down for longevity and improve the ride.

If you want the trike to speak to your soul...go with the Triglide. If you want comfort , Reliability, being able to use reg. gasoline, ( means a lot of $ here in Calif. ) have more storage, better handling...stay with the wing, or better yet, if you are willing to fork out the money, which you are, perhaps wait a little and check out the 2018 Wings....J.M.O.
Viper said a mouth full here. I had a Goldwing motorcycle and thought long and hard about having a Trike kit added to it. Why? Well, the engine is good for 200,000 plus miles, it's water cooled so there are no temp issues to worry about, motor mounts probably won't break loose, shift linkage probably won't strip out, water pump probably won't quit after just 20 or 30,000 miles, probably won't need to change the left handle controls so you can start it in gear, trunk probably won't start to open itself while going down the freeway but here is why I went with the Harley.

    1. I test drove a Goldwing trike with a motortrike kit. Don't know if it was just a badly done kit that year or what but my experience on it was terrible. I almost decided to forget Trikes all together due to the ride on the Wing, plus the way it was built my legs had no room and to get my legs to the highway pegs was not a good fit either.

    2. American made. (Sort of).

    3. Wife and I got on the Harley to test. Night and day different fit for us both. We were sold.

So, I just fix it as it breaks and keep on riding. We keep on loving it with all its faults.

I guess in summary, other than the Goldwing not fitting us....it was just too mechanically perfect. lol

Do a search for DK Customs Kevin has done volumes of work on just those subjects, he has certainly helped Old Shiney and I. fred

Wife and I took a 2010 Goldwing with a CSC conversion for a test ride. It was smooth as silk, handled great and comfortable. The Triglide is a different critter. It does handle great, is smooth (coming from a two wheel Honda VTX). Both are great machines but the Harley fits our personalities better. We both like the Vtwin engine as far as looks, sound and performance. There is nothing wrong with the Goldwing. If thats what you like buy it. Test both of them and decide for yourself. Respect others opinions but get what you want.

For years i only had Japanese Bikes. And a Canadian trike , And every time i walked in a Harley showroom i just didn't get it... To me they were old over priced bikes... Then one day i was fed up with the Spyder, And happen to drive by a Harley dealer and sitting there was a Tri-Glide. That was in 2011...The salesman said take one out for a ride...

3 miles up the road and 3 miles back, It Got it..Can't explain it , An intangible maybe?

Bought it on the spot...It ain't the fastest, It ain't the slowest , Or the best riding Trike...

    Its just feels right...

It is hard for me to get a real feel for what the ride will be on a short test ride.
My wife had a CSC 1800 GW, she loved it. At the time I had a 2 wheel GW. I joined a Shrine group that mostly road White HD Ulttras, so of course I needed one. It's way different than the Wing but a great machine. When I thought I should get a three-wheeler, I walked in and bought it without riding it. It wasn't until they delivered it to the house that I found out it has a rigid axle. If I had ridden it I would not have bought it, I would have converted my '15 Ultra. I am stuck with it, I love to hear it and to look at it but it still leaves something to be desired in the handling.

    Just my experience

I had just the opposite experience. My dealer had a Trike Day and had the TriGlide, a DFT kit installed on a TG and a mock up of a direct replacement rear end kit(not available at that time). I took test rides on both and decided on the stock TG. The cost for the other two was way too much for me. The only difference in the test ride was on a bad road (they did have one) the IRS was good, but when I thought about it, how often was I going to be on bad roads where the IRS was needed. Not much so I crossed the IRS off my list. I have not looked back and have been happy ever since.

Test ride them all and think about how and where you ride and if the IRS is really needed.

Also think about resale/trade in value, dealer/service locations and factory warranty. I've heard scary stories about who will address any problems.

Good Luck on whatever you decide

I went from the TRIGLIDE to a Spyder and am really happy with the ride. The Tank was hot and drove like one too. At the time the compensators were junk and got no oil to the critical areas of the compensator.

Anyway my body has been really happy with the smooth ride.

The tank got to the point I could no longer ride more than a hour at a time on it and felt all beat up after a ride.

That is not the way I want to enjoy my rides.

We really love our 2015 Triglide. Do like we did before spending the cash. Many HD dealers also rent trikes. Rent a triglide for a day or two.

We r both in our 70's ..Bought the 16 Tri year & a half ago. 21000 miles in that time.... guess we like it.. Only change was comfort lift kit & coil over shocks. Dont need IRS.
