I have always used Lemon Pledge. It acts just like Rain-X. They have a new product that is called All Purpose Pledge. Same product without the smell! It works good!
I use Plexus...

I use Lemon Pledge, a good cleaner and water repellent. I understand one should never use "RainX" on a motorcycle windshield. I use a soft cotton cloth (towel) and only wipe in one direction (I go up and down) this will keep you from creating swirls in the windshield (those circle scratches that make it so hard to see when you riding into the sun).
I shudder when someone comes up to me at the gas station with one of those wooden handled sponge car windshield cleaners..........
A bag of "Bull Durham"
I recently bought a new windshield from National Cycle and it comes with Built in Rain guard. They also include a bottle of Rain Zip.

I like this windshield and how it sheds water.
But I also use Plexus and ONLY micro fiber towels. Not a scratch or swirl mark on it.

Wash with mild warm soapy water and rinse all with a soft cloth, let dry and then use lemon pledge after it drys,on a tulsa clear with vent since 97 still looks like new, never use windex are you a filling stations sponge.
When I am on trips I keep a soapy wet cloth in a zip lock bag and a wet rag in a zip bag to rinse with also carry a can of lemon pledge and two rags one to dry with and the other to clean the wax off with works for me.
Get the Pledge that has no aroma to it. The bees like the lemon Pledge. utergreet: Tom
