Default Latest Up Dates to the 2018 Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally

Nothing is set in stone however here are a few thoughts/updates to keep you in the loop for the 4th Annual Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally taking place July 10-15, 2018.

    1. We will be taking a break from large groups leaving at one time to go on a destination ride. Instead, small groups of 20 trikes or less will take off together. We will provide maps and sign-up sheets to help organize individuals into the small groups. Ultimately the small groups will meet back up later in the day for an ice cream or watermelon feed.

    2. We are exploring a "Ride with a Local" day.

    3. Increase group activities by hosting some trike games, an outdoor movie night, and going to Sturgis on Wednesday afternoon for an outdoor concert/street fair.

    4. Having Vendors from Thursday - Saturday (in 2017 they started on Wed and will still have that option if they wish)

    5. Having the show n shine (sponsored by Powder River Trikers) and evening dinner/awards on Friday rather than Saturday so more people can participate before heading back home.

    Hi Randy,

Thanks for your comments and for considering the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally as one of your summer triking events for 2018. You will not be disappointed, I assure you. I too will be hauling my trike, not because I no longer enjoy riding. To the contrary..., as I always felt that it is the journey, rather than the destination, that's more important. There comes a time when the miles are starting to stack up, not only on the trike, but the body as well. One must make concessions. Stay tuned to http://www.d3wr.com, the rally's website, as the registration will soon be formally open for the 4th Annual Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally.

We are excited to reveal the tentative schedule for the 4th Annual Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally set for July 10-15 2018. The group meal has been moved to Friday to encompass more riders who come from long distances and need to leave on Saturday. The Show n Shine has been moved to Friday for the same reason. The Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally Challenge Coin is new for 2018. There will be a limited number of them and they will not be something you can purchase....rather you earn the coin through participation of certain events held on Friday and Saturday. More information will be made available about that and event registration will open very soon!!! So please stay tuned for further updates and details...

Default Need Help With Lodging During The Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally?

Do you still need a room for the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally? Our best suggestion is to call Black HIlls Central Reservations at 866-601-5103. Deadwood has over 2000 rooms. If you are a hotel rewards member they can more than likely book you in a hotel that honors those points or where you can earn more points. The Deadwood Chamber of Commerce has an excellent website that lists most of the hotel properties - complete with weblinks so you can take a look at the property before actually booking. You can find them at http://www.deadwood.com

and the lodging link is at the top of the page.

NOTE: If you are not familiar with Deadwood - the entire town encompasses less than a three mile spread. Everything is very close to the actual trike rally venue including the town of Lead that is only 3 miles away.

Default More states are being represented by registrants to the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally

We picked up 6 more states (FL, AL, AR, ID, IN, MN) and many more participants! WA is leading the pack at this time with impressive numbers also from the states of NC,TN and NY.

A big thanks to those who are getting their registrations in early. D3WR works hard to provide the registrant with little "extras" to make their time here special and that is easier to do if we know who is coming. Mail your registratons today and if something comes up that requires you to cancel, we will do a refund up until June 30th. To date, we have 188 registrations, 144 are new and 44 returning.

    Default Vendors wanted!!

    VENDORS WANTED

Last night the Deadwood City Commissioners voted to waive the City vendor fees for the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally. The cost to vend at this year's event will now only be $100. That fee will be used to offset the cost of having Badlands Security, a professional security company, watch the event grounds overnight . If you are interested in a 2018 Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally (D3WR) vendor packet, email your request to teresas@firstgold.com. The event is being held July 10-15, 2018 with vending opportunities July 12-14. Thank you for your consideration!

    Default Have You Register Yet?

We're still about 4 1/2 months out before the start of the 2018 Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally and we're seeing the numbers of registrants continually increasing, which is simply FANTASTIC! When checking on the following website, https://www.blackhillsvacations.com/, I found there's still a few lodging facilities in Deadwood that are offering lodging for less than $100/night. But they're going fast. If you would like to be close to where the action is, I'd recommend that you don't hesitant too much longer. This link will take you to the rally's website, http://www.d3wr.com where you can register on line, find a tentative schedule as to what is planned during the rally and have the opportunity to have your questions answered. Please keep in mind that Teresa will offer you a FULL REFUND of your registration fee, should you have to cancel, prior to July 1st. Simply contact her, via her phone number or email address, which are provided on the rally's website. You may also contact me, as my email address is given at the bottom of this posting.

Here's the latest registrants map showing which states and the makes and numbers of trikes that are represented.

Default Come Join In The Fun at TRIKESTOCK!

On Saturday, July 14th we will have a new evening event called "Trikestock" What's that you say? Trikestock will be a laid back musical jam session where you can pick up an instrument and play your favorite song with the new friends you have made during the week of the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally. We understand not all instruments are the size of a harmonica that you can throw in your saddle bags so if you contact us before June 1st we will try and find a guitar, drums, fiddle, etc that you can use. Please start posting about this and let's "make some music" this year.

WOWZER and it's only the first half of March!!!

Here is the latest Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally participant map. These numbers are based on the registrations we have received to date. Please send your registrations in if you have not already done so. It helps a great deal with our planning and enticing vendors and sponsors to take part in the event. The Legendary Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota is a sponsor for this year's Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally and are providing these awesome eyeglass/goggle cleaning cloths. The picture shows what both sides of the cloth look like. They will be given to the first 500 paid registrants that are listed as the operator of the trike (not the passenger). As of today 227 of the 500 have already been allocated. Just one more great incentive to get registered early! You can check out the Buffalo Chip and all that it has to offer during the 78th Annual Sturgis Rally by visiting www.buffalochip.com

    Hey Bill,

Per last report, Spyders still out number Harleys 3.5 to 1. I too hope to see more of the trikes that have been in the minority. But don't feel bad... In my case, they out number my brand (Stallion), better than 100 to 1. But regardless of what the attendees ride, we all have one important thing in common.
Our love and 3dom for the open road!

P.S. Thanks for supporting the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally!!!

    Default Have You Register Yet?

Last year at this time we had 73 registrants compared to the 352 we have today...that's a 480% increase over last year! A special thank you to all the members that have decided to include the rally as one of their summer riding events for this year. The 4th Annual Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally is slated to be our best ever! Thank you are your support and suggestions as to how to improve the rally and make it more attractive and appealing. We're listening...!

Default Vendors Wanted (Still)! 2018 Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally

We have sent out lots of packets of info however at this time, these are the vendors who have submitted their paperwork back to us which makes them official vendors. If you know of vendors who would be great, please direct them to our website where the vendor packet is posted (www.D3WR.com).
