Have to change out blue coil springs to the heavy duty yellow springs on my champion trike when i redo the new irs parts.I have a coil spring compressor but it must be reworked to fit the spacing of the coil.First do i need a spring compressor or will the springs come off by loosing the adjuster nut untill there is no tension and slip off the old and slip on the new and bring up the compression nut.

Hi tingrin
I know this has been here a while but here's my experince
My brother & I did the zero knuckle mod on my IRS last fall. Yes you do need to use a spring compressor. You might also want to take your adjuster and drill 6 or 8 shallow holes around it about 1/2" down so you can use a wrench to adjust when you get it all back together. We also found the calaper mounts were tapped metric while the originals were SAE. The mod does help but I don't think they went far enough. My tires were worn quite a bit on the inside and they still don't sit flat like you would expect. I'm not knocking the kit as I really like mine and would get one again.

Do you have any problems with water getting in the trunk if riding or sitting in the rain? I do and haven't found a solution as yet.

I triked mine in '06, and the trunk did have a very small leak around the door in a driving rain or while washing the trike. It wasn't a lot, but I definitely did not enjoy the moisture in there! My husband and I found a weather stripping at Lowes that easily solved the problem, and it has not leaked since. It is not foam rubber, but a hollow, flattened "tube". Very easy to apply. The trunk takes an extra pressure to latch, but that is not a problem to me, and I sure do like the dry carpet inside! <img src="images/smilies/grin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="big grin" class="inlineimg" /> (I'll take a picture and add it here tomorrow.)
