    Default Rear tire tri glide

Dunlops 205/65R 15 92T load rate 1400 cost $141.99 most cycle shops. Harley even higher

    Dunlops 205/65R 15 94T load rate 1477 cost $ 77.99 Wal Mart

Whats the big difference? both speed rate the same, load rate the only diff.

Just would like to know for my own info.

    Thanks

That's the difference and an important one to consider. Put a too low a load rated tire on a trike or bike and you risk heat build up to cause catastrophic failure.

The tire from Wal Mart has a higher load rate than the regular tire on the trike now by 77 lbs.

Other than the Walmart tire having a higher load rating, the only other difference I see is in the 94T's tread pattern. The Walmart tire is rated for 65k miles and supposedly the Signature II at Walmart vs. the Signature tire from Harley is designed to remove more water from wet surfaces for better traction. I would suspect by the designation of Signature II vs. Signature that the Signature II is an improvement on the Signature tire? The price difference is amazingly different between the two sources for the tires and at Walmart, you can get both tires for about half the price of the Harley-sourced tires.

Not sure what tire is on my 16 without going out & looking, but, it does not look like a good rain tire to me. It is stock & just appears to be a street tire.

About $64.....I have the Sig II on my 15....absolutely no difference so far. Everything is more expensive at the Dealer or MC Shops. And I had them mounted and filled with nitrogen at the local Tire shop for about $25 for both tires. Just remember to tell them the rim / tire are loaded backwards.....jc

I'am not sure I know what you mean by this?
The direction that the tire is mounted. Most "Car" tires are mounted with the Rim facing up....the Trike rims {and others} are mounted with the rim facing down. Why I have no idea...jc

The rim and tires on the rear stay the same......The tires if you are using a car tire on the front , Are mounted in the opposite direction of the arrow on the tires side wall

Cool.....I was told by the installer that he was referring to the side of the rim the tire was "pushed" on to the rim......

Your installer is probably correct. Some tires go on from the front some the rear. It depends on where the clearance channel is. Tires don't stretch thats what that smaller diameter channel is for. Tires usually go on and off from the side closest to the channel.

To preclude maring/scratching the side of the wheel that everybody sees.

Consider the Goodyear Comfortreads as a replacement. Softer sidewalls for a better ride.

Wouldn't deflection be an issue? Not a lot of room in that fender well....

I have 32k and have many more miles to go on the stock Dunlops before I change mine to the Goodyears!
