Series E slip on tuning
Want new slip-ons this year. Have stock Harley Slip-ons with baffles removed and Thunder torque inserts. Sounds Great at first but just too loud after all day. If I get Series E how do I settle on the amount of discs to tune the exhaust without a dyno?

Series E — if they are supper traps it won’t matter as the back pressure is the same no matter how many discs are in . The disks only regulate the amount of exhaust noise you want . Less noise , more disks. The end cap is the must use secret .

I beg to differ with you unless you have facts to back it up. The more discs the less back pressure more noise. Less discs more back pressure less noise, straight from supertrapp.com

Correct , Just went to supertrapp and confirmed. Was going to order Series E from Fuel Moto when its time and hopefully they can recommend the best number of discs. I know they will send a new map to download to my tuner. Less discs better for low end torque and more discs for top end.

Try varying numbers of discs and when you find the number that suits your riding style best, use that number.
They can't do that on a dynomometer anyway. Only you will know what feels best to you when you're riding.
btw, going from what you have to the Series E is opposite ends of the spectrum on exhaust sound.
The Series E produces exceptional power, and it is very quiet...probably the quietest aftermarket slip-on out there.
Devin runs them on his Stage IV Street Glide and most everyone at the shop teases him a bit...but he gets great power out of them.

Super Trapp and Kerker have worked with HD for years and have got it right IMO
I also aree seat of the pants will get you the grunt power and the sound you want
They are ( disc tuneable exhaust) very user friendly

Update on Series E install.
Well it's been awhile since exhaust received and installed but Ohio winter kept the trike indoors. Finally able to get out last Friday. I installed exhaust with 9 plates for the quietest sound and that combination should also bring on the torque earlier in the rpm range. Sounds much better , I was running stock Harley mufflers with baffles removed and thunder torque inserts. That combo was just too loud after a couple hours. So far the sound level on the Series E is much more tolerable. My seat of the pants dyno likes the perceived torque improvement as well. If someone wants to experiment with their exhaust I have the stock mufflers with thunder torques and 4 inch chrome tips for sale $50.00 plush shipping. Tips have some curb scrapes from before adding lift kit for improved clearance.
