I would definitely use Ben again and recommend him to anyone in the area ........ Knowledgeable, absolutely honest and trustworthy, experienced, has his own machine shop and can/will modify or build anything he needs to, highly recommended by Champion, licensed Harley shop so working with HD, warranties, etc. not a problem, relatively close to my location. He also did Greydog's build, and I suspect he would agree with me completely.
 
I would definitely use the same installer if I could. I did a self install at the Hannigan factory with their tech looking over my shoulder. I don't know if they allow you to do that any more or not.
 
Absolutely!!! I would not even consider buying a bike anywhere else other than Baxter's. His mechanics are top notch, sales girls are VERY knowledgeable of the products and Ben, as Nana said, is as honest as the day is long!!! Ben did the conversion on my trike and also saved me a ton on the 103" build by boring the cylinders himself. The trike is solid as a rock and runs like a dragster!! BTW...he has a REALLY nice 2000 Ultra with a DFT kit on the floor for $18,000 with just over 14,000 miles on the clock.
 
Is yours a DFT also? Mine was installed by the owner of DFT himself (Leon ) for his wife ROSA . So I guess I should answer YES;)
BTW that is a steal , the kit alone the last time I checked, was close to $13,000 installed on your bike .

In my case, I was not allowed to do my own at the factory. As it turned out, that was a good thing as I could not have found a better installer.
 
Here is my story.At the time I had mine done I contacted the two nearest Motor Trike dealers.Both were helpful, informative,and willing to listen.I decided on the neaest one and went there on a Friday afternoon late and found about 4 drunks trying to install a kit.that sent me to the other dealer.We made a deal and the converson was done which I was thrilled with.When I got it back ,after a while of getting used to it I kept noticing these big ole ugly painted alum.bolts on the stering heads.After further investigation I found nothing that said EZster which is what I was supposed to get ,but instead it has TRIKE SHOP stamped on the side of it.Pretty sure that ain't no Motor Trike product.Looking back though I could not find anywhere was EZsteer written down and I do remember them only saying rake kit.So leagally all I think I can say Is GOTTCHA and I wish I had gone to the dealer in Dothan.I AM SORRY FOR BEING SO LONG WINDED

One must be specific about EZ-steer, as I'm sure you now know. The brand name has become the "words" for a rake kit. Several manufacturers are providing their own rake kits with their conversions, either purchased from a vendor or manufactured in their facilities, I believe.
Having said that, I have yet to hear of any problems with any rake kit.
Also, Are you sure those bolts are aluminum?
 
Yes mine was done by BIKES-N-TRIKES of Boggstown Indiana.
It is down there right now changing out the front springs from progressive to stock and some other things.

No question I would use the same one. Built by the good folks at Motor Trike in Troup, TX. While there is no question there are some good installers out there, you also need to be real careful of the Gypsies. If I were to change kits, which I don't see that happening, I would be sure to call the kit manufacturer and get a list of who they recomend, then call serveral owners to see what they think. While the internet is a good place to do research, always better, in my opinion, to talk with folks first hand.
 
thedeputydawg No I am not sure what the material is they are made from but they look like sprayed alum.(UGLY) In any case it is not what I asked for or what I payed for.
 
DITTO what trikes4ever has to say. Philip @ Trike Conversions of Texas in Conroe. He did everything he said that he was gonna do when he said that it would be done. There is a set back on the Centerline Wheels due to back order so Philip loaned me a set of new wheels and tires to use while we are waiting for my wheels to be made and shipped. I just picked up my v rod frankenstein trike today. I'm pleasantly surprised that all went so well, trike is as good or much better than I expected. So I highly recommend Philip Ware and his company for any trike conversion in Texas or elsewhere. Thumbs Up

I forgot to give a reason why, and I was referring to the GL1800 MT that I have had for 6 years now. The MT wasn't installed properly at all, which prompted the writing of the service manual over the first three years of ownership. It is now properly done but only due to an installer that was close to here that allowed me to help, and we did a complete kit redo over that three years, and a body change.

The Yellow Venture is another story in itself... I like that install even though the guy that did it was a little flighty and only showed up in the evenings, and took loads of breaks to finish,,,,,:) Oh OOPS that was me: :AGGHH:

Sure wish I coulda' done mine but, the outcome was and continues to be very satisfying
