Checking old Shiney out for winter to see exactly where my oil leak was occurring. Now when I replaced the clutch cable I did not use Teflon tape on cable threads admitted but was that necessary? My oil leak seems to be coming from the cable I must have damaged the O ring at the install... and you know these things come apart from the mufflers forward. Is it common for the O ring to go bad? I have added no motor oil so I know it is not that. No loose oil pan fasteners all clean and dry. I did add transmission oil I'm running Amsoil tranny lube. shifts great neutral is good to get too, added less than a half a pint this summer late to the trans. Anyone have a way to make sure you don't damage the O ring at installation. not exactly what I had in mind. Starting that cable thread is a real pain.
