Winter Storm Grayson

That sucks ! I’m on the border of 2 county’s, usually a storm like Riley would be a 2 to 3 day outage. Surprised me that we were back on as quick as we were. Like you, it looks like a lumber yard here .

Two things holding up the power 1) All the power crews are suning themselves in Puerto Rico ...

2) Christie lives in my town ' But he isn't governor any more so he can't put ln a good word for me 😢😢-📞

Got upgraded from storm watch to storm warning - now it's 5"-10" of heavy snow with freezing drizzle first to slick things up. Doesn't matter - got my plans made:

Didn’t think this thread would get this far :Shrug: Gota share what was reported on local news;

Lower Westchester County in NY is one of the richest one in the state, a reporter interviewed a couple w/o power that has NO back up generator system , well water and it’s 40* in the house. There answer as to why no back up, “We pay a lot to make sure it will never happen” Daaaaah !

Polititions blaming the power companies, again, like they can perdict the outcomes, the weather heads have state of the art machines and still perdict 2–12” I guess that should cover it. :D

A lot of the problem with down wires is when the power companies go to cut trees before a storm as preventive maintenance the home owners don't want the trees cut .....So they just lightly trim them only to have them grow over the lines again in two years or so...

The trimmings usually do well here, it’s the inland large dead ones that fall the wrong way.

I guess it’s up to the tree trimming co’s they hire. Job security if it’s just looks good. Up roots are the best !

Not quite the same but almost......

A few years ago when i was at a town council meeting a blind person sent in a letter and asked if the town could trim the branch's and shrubs that over hang the sidewalks because when he walks to the center of town his seeing eye can't see them but they hit him in the face... The consciences from the council members was , We would first have to send out letters to the homeowner's to ask them to keep the sidewalks clear...Cause if we just trimmed them ourselves without a notice, The homeowners would be at the next meeting with pitchforks and torches... :xzqxz:

They made it official - they think it's serious:

...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM MST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Winds gusting as high as 50

mph will cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow. Significant

drifting of the snow is likely. Total snow accumulations ranging

from 3 to 6 inches are expected.

I see they cut the snow total down to 3-6 inches - far cry from the 7-15 they started with. Whatever, going back to bed...

Salt on the road is overrated.......:p
