Fork seal leeking

Standard weight should be fine. They are usually around 5 to 10 weight. Maybe a GW person will jump on here and give you a better idea.

Many times fork seals leak due to contamination from dirt, sand, etc. You can buy fork seal cleaners at dirt bike supply shops. They're flexible piece of plastic you slide between the seal and fork tube to remove any debris. Also check for any pitting or rough surface on the tube, if you find some, 2000 grit sand paper will polish it out.

Cleaning the fork seal may be all you need. It has worked for many, but I failed at my attempt. Ended up bending the "tool" up too much trying to get it to slip in. They are cheap enough to give it a try. Here is their website and video showing how to do it. http://sealmate.net/

Thanks everyone. That tool might fix the leek. This trike has about 70000mi and when I first removed the seat everything under it was covered in a thick layer of what looked like limestone dust. That is why I want to take the forks apart and check everything.

With 70K, IMOP invest in a seal and bushing kit, just sayin'

Replaced my seals & bushings over the winter. It's a CSC Cobra trike conversion. Used all Honda parts including Honda's 10 wt. Oil. Your forks may have a 1.5" spacer in them. Mine did. Guess they level the front after being triked from what I read. Most recommend fork extension to do this while others recommend progressive springs. Had I known this while it was apart I would have ordered the Progressive springs. These are on next year's list
