Damn Deer!

Had a deer run out in front of me in July last year, saw it in time to slow down before impact, luckily it was a Bambi. Wife and I had no injuries. Dealership made me a great offer to upgrade from a 2015 to a 2017.

Had another deer deer try to take me out Sunday, saw it at time of impact, large buck this time. Thankfully I was riding solo, sprained ankle was the only injury I had. Dealership made a 10 hr trip to pick up my trike, still waiting on insurance to settle up.

I’m beginning to think the deer don’t like me. Glad I was on a trike though, injuries would have been worse on a bike.

10hrs ? Ya don’t have a dealer closer ? That tow bill alone might cause a total .

Remember if ya see one deer crossing, the rest of the heard/family is not far behind. Hope the repairs are good, or do the old tradein trick. Glad your ok.

OUCH! 2 deer in a year, have you purchased or ate any venison in the past? I personally think, their out to get you! BIG TIME!

Woods Rats ! I live in deer 🦌 county I can't even tell you how many close calls I've had 😱And I can't tell you how many times I slowed down for crossing deer and flashed my lights to oncoming drivers to warn them only for them to have the deer ln ln the deer in the headlights look and never slow down 😱📞

Couple of summers ago my wife and I hit a deer with our trike up near Eagle River, WI. Good thing it was on a trike we have always said, neither of us sustained any injuries except for the trike. That was $5000 to repair.

I was up in the NC mountains riding with a couple of sheriff's deputies many years ago from a Florida county where their cruisers are hitting deer all of the time. The officers explained to me that deer do not look right or left when they decide to run across a road. They simply look at where they want to go and do a "point and shoot" maneuver without regard for traffic.

As someone pointed out, if you see one run across the road, you will likely have others that follow without regard to traffic patterns. BTW, I put myself between the two deputies and we strafed the mountains. I was hoping that their badges would get us off if we happened to pass some gendarmes at a higher than normal rate of speed Luckily, my defensive tactics were not challenged by another with a badge.

I had a friend who was a local cop get a ticket in another State on a bike and the cop didn't cut him a bit of slack. My buddy suggested that he hoped to see the fellow LEO in our town one day for some courteous payback

Looks like I’ll be waiting on my trike being repaired. Insurance company said $9K in repairs, maybe more once they open the fairing. Won’t be enough to total.

The dealership offered me $15K less than I payed for the trike 6 months ago, no additional money for extras that have been added. Not going to take that big of a hit just to go from a 2017 to a 2018. They’ve got a new sales manager since my last incident.

Worst part is I’m working 10 hours from home, having to do everything over phone and emails.

9K in damage isn't too bad. When I hit a deer with my 11 month old Road Glide last year, the initial estimate was $18000.00, and it totaled. Still was pretty costly to move up to a new Tri-Glide, but the way the deer are in northern MN, it was well worth it!

That said the deer here in FLA are pretty small compared to deer in Mn

seen a guy hit a mule deer few years ago. deer got up and walk away ,bike was total mess.but he was.just lucky.
