    Default Looking at purchasing a new 2014 Goldwing Calif. Kit Tike

    I'm new to this site. I currently own a 2006 Harley Ultra Classic. The weight of the bike with my wife on is starting to get to me. I've driven several Trikes and like how the 2014 Goldwing handled.

    Question I have is how do you value a purchase like this. A Honda dealer has a new 2014 Goldwing with a new Calif. kit priced at $32,000. When I purchased my Harley new I knew what the list price was but how do you value a new bike that is already 4 years old? I like the 8 year warranty I can purchase for the Trike.

    Any comments/feedback appreciated.

    Russellville Honda in Russellville Ar has lots of new 2018 wing trikes around 38,000$. Shawnee Honda in Shawnee Ok also bout the same price. They are both good new dealers. They have listings on eBay to get started or you can call them. Good luck shopping.

    Not sure bout that. Just thinking if you’re gonna think bout resale. The 2014 is behind the 8 ball if you decide to sale it. It’s already 4 yrs old. As soon as you purchase it, it’s gonna be a 2014 with low miles. If it’s the color and trike kit you want that’s an important part of the purchase. If you have eBay, check out Honda goldwing trike. Russellville Honda has 3 2017’s listed. They have lots on the showroom floor bout all the time. Roadsmith, CSC, are there two most popular sellers.

    Welcome to the Gang from Western Colorado.

    A general rule of thumb is to take the value of the bike and add the cost of the conversion. I did some checking awhile back and most kits installed go for around $12-15k. NADA cycle listings should give you a decent feel for the bike value.

    Greg it is hard to say. Yes it's new but it really isn't. As soon as you roll out the door it's a used 14 as all ready stated.

    I just went on E-Bay and typed in TRIKES search for Honda GL1800. From what I saw the price is a little high. There was one listed a 2017 with 2 miles for 33k. New 16 for 34 to 35k used 2012 in the 27 to 28 range.

    The bottom line is going to be what YOU are going to be HAPPY with. You will have to keep it for several years for the resale price to be where you will not take a big lose if you sold it. GOOD LUCK

    IMHO, if you like the bike, has low miles, good tires, a responsible installer, and extras, talk him down to 30K and buy it. If you want a CSC that is.

    Ok, this is just my take on this. I wouldn't touch this rig. It was serviced and triked four years ago and has been sitting since. Tires are already at least four years old, fuel and injectors probably not set up for long term storage, etc. I would ask myself why no one has purchased this trike in four years with one of the two most popular kits; CSC.

    I think there are better deals out of for late model used rigs with low mileage, some accessories, etc. that have been consistently used and maintenance performed. For me that warranty means nothing if I break down on the road or have it in the shop a lot.

    Like I said - just my .02. Good luck.
    Wing with Roadsmith kit, Traxxion Ak20 cartridges and Accuride System.
