    Hey Jc1300!

........just saw your Pic .......Oh sh_t!....I hadnt thought about that extra space needing to be covered up after extending the tour pkg location....I would have walked tight into that problem too!

...............Sorry for your experience....but it sure gives reason to pause for others such as myself.

    Ride safe

The part of the Kuryaykn that actually mounts to the tour pak is thicker than the stock pad, or at least on my 2016 TGU it was. YMMV. I didn't want the screws to cut through the material on the tab while tightening. So i found a couple just a little longer and used a small Chrome washer with them.
Yup. Same here. I bought the Kury relo kit for my '17 CVO Limited and then of course transferred it to my '18 Tri-Glide. When I installed it on the '17 I too found the stock screws too short to get the acorn nut on and had to make a trip to the hardware store for some longer ones. I called Kury and advised them of this. The guy I spoke to said he would pass it along but since that was in Sept or 2016 I guess nothing has been done.

I have always found Kury's parts and instructions to be spot on. This was not a bigger but a frustration nonetheless.

Regarding tour-pak I've got a first - well at least to me. Friend of mine just got a 2018 Anny edition Tri-Glide. Very nice . Wife is slim and didn't think they would need a relo kit but finally decided to move it back maybe 1 1/2" or so. I shared with him that I had a Kury kit on mine and that DK has a nice kit also.

He thought about making his own with some aluminum stock he had but in the end did it a novel way. One that I would not endorse. He relocated the factory mount on the body by drilling new mounting holes in the trike body 1 1/2' back from the stock position. I was shocked to say the least when he told me he'd done this. It works no doubt but I truly hope he has not done anything that will come back to cause him a problem.

Yikes! Seems like a strange place to save a couple of hundred dollars as he just dropped close to 40K on the '18....man I hope that works....let us know

    Hi JC1300,

Just saw this thread. I sincerely apologize. I thought we had the fitment note about the filler pad in the description.

It is back in there now. Apparently when we migrated to our new website last August, that did not make it in the migration from the old site.

I know that it being back in there now does not change the hassle you've had, I am very sorry.

Also, looking at your photo, my recommendation is that you disconnect that bundle of wires from the clip on the chrome rack. Then use the supplied zip ties to get that bundle back closer to the Tour-Pak, out of the way of the passenger. (#7 in instructions)

That is what we did on ours, and the wires pretty much disappear behind the pad that hangs down. On our TG we use a sheepskin over the seat, and do Not use a filler pad. No one has ever mentioned the gap, and no wires are visible.

    Kevin

P.S. Going to be checking tomorrow on why I did not receive the message that you left last week.

Kevin - First off thanks - This is really a quality product - The floating cross member is a great idea - and it's solid as a rock. No problem just what I stated earlier - To go from done to not done....you get my drift. I did move the wiring back on both and it does move it back far enough that I am confident Joanne can't sit on the connections now. I've ordered the pad and with luck it will be here Monday - leaving on Wednesday....with the Dog......embarrassed to admit it, but it was the reason for the relocation kit.....I've already turned in my man badge....

    Yeah, I understand.

That's very cool! Always like seeing a dog enjoying the wind on a bike/trike!

You don't need to turn in your man badge, I think loving a dog is cool regardless of your gender.

Like another triker it took me about 2 hours. DK's instructions are really good. Make sure you use the lock tight. I also started with a two inch set back. My wife really like this. I also bought Kuryakyn's filler pad to cover the space behind the seat and to cover the wires.

I agree..and thanks.. now that we have found out the New Red Roof Plus hotel chain is a "Dogs stay Free" chain at least we can find an affordable hotel. But it still is gonna take me some time to get used to sharing the ride with a dog! lol
