So I ordered - Will be here Thursday. Not exactly a Mechanic.....but surely capable. How much time will I need to put aside for the change, and any suggestions learned from those that have done this upgrade - Thanks

I put the DK relocation kit on my TGU tour pak right after I bought it. As far as time involved it really just depends. Somebody with a good clean work area that has done it before could probably do it in a hour or less. However, I am OCD about that kind of stuff, especially with a high dollar tour pak. It has to come off and I took my time and was very careful. It took me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Like I said, I am OCD and I check and recheck every step and took my time. An extra set of hands comes in handy for a couple of steps in the install. I set mine for 2 inches back. I am very pleased with it and all of the other DK Custom Products I have installed.
16 TGU Mysterious Red / Velocity Red. FM Ceramic Head pipe and FM E-Series tunable exhaust. PV Target Tune-AT WB Tuner. DK Outlaw 606 AC with EBS, Ward’s FCS fans. DK Custom Oil filter/Cooler relocation kit, Comfort Lift and 14 inch shocks. DK tank lift, wind deflectors, floorboard extenders, and tour pak relocator. Chrome TGU wheels. Bad Ass Lights tail lights. Lighted controls and Krome Works 2+2 narrow handle bars.
It took me 2 hours taking my time.
I set it 2" back but I am debating on moving back another 1" when I install DK customs brake/running light in the near future.

Thanks guys - Looks like a relaxed couple of hours and a few pics - jc
JC, I did mine with my son to help. I did my BIL's with his help. Second one was done in about 45 mins, first one longer. The second par of hands is a must in my opinion. It is just easier, especially when putting the tour pac back on. You have the mounting bolts (6 if I recall right) to get lined up with the holes in the top of the trunk and you really don't want to scratch up the paint there around those holes. You may not be able to see the scratches with the tour pac on, but for me, I would know they were there!
It is what it is.

There seems to be a plethora {25 pts} of videos showing other manufacturers kits on You Tube....any video on the DK?

You might want to remove the rider's backrest if you intend just to roll the tourpak up onto the seat, I didn't and now I'm replacing the rear speaker grills.

So - Other than my stupidity regarding the clip release on the electrical....pretty straight forward install. But curious why nobody here mentions the large gap created over those harness connections? No one sees this as a issue or just an eye sore? I understand had I sat down and tried to think this all the way thru, that I MIGHT have wondered if the skirt would still cover that gap. Now what?
A lot of us have used the extender in the link below or had one made by someone local.

So Again my question.....curious how this can be and it's not mentioned....not on the DK site or with the previous responses? I'm not mad at you guys, just surprised....
OK....maybe a little upset with DK for not addressing this issue....
So you will not get too upset again, here is a possible problem you might have. When I installed my Kuryakyn extender, I had to get a couple of new screws to install the new one. The part of the Kuryaykn that actually mounts to the tour pak is thicker than the stock pad, or at least on my 2016 TGU it was. YMMV. I didn't want the screws to cut through the material on the tab while tightening. So i found a couple just a little longer and used a small Chrome washer with them.

Interesting....I just have to assume my standards are different than others ~ I don't expect a Fix to then cause other issues. Let's be clear...I am not upset.....Pissed maybe.....disappointed for sure. I see no upside to selling anything that leaves the buyer needing to purchase again to finish the upgrade. I would have bought both at the same time and be done with it.....It's a PITA to not be done and an unnecessary waste of my time.
Well opinions are like butt holes, everybody has one. Yes, I obviously am not as demanding as your are. Have a nice week. BTW, I have always found DK instructions to be adequate and help just a phone call away if needed. Hope you have a great weekend.
