Is there a bigger gas tank out there for the 17 triglide ????
Is there a bigger gas tank out there for the 17 triglide ????
I'd be willing to bet there is a non Harley option that is at least 6.6 gal. There is for the earlier ones.
HogWorkz makes a 6.6 gallon.
Don’t know why ya need a bigger tank ? By the time mine needs a refill I need to pee.

I had a couple of them - one for each saddlebag.
Then I switched to this: http://www.reda-innovations.com/reda-gas-can
Haven't taken that long a trip since I got my trike so not sure what I'll use. The Reda can is made for a saddlebag but it would no doubt fit in the trunk. And it holds a full gallon whereas the MSR bottles only hold about a quart - so two of the + 1/2 gallon. But they are smaller and might be easier to deal with in the trunk with luggage. We'll see.

I equate larger gas tanks with Chainsaws ....I have a 12 inch saw, So i cut 12 inch trees..
So i get a 14 inch saw to make it easier, Now im cutting 14 inch tress...Then up grade to 18 inch saw, Yep 18 inch trees now...
6gal tank 200 miles to low, 7 gal tank 235 to low...8gal tank 270 to low....You'll just ride longer till you start having gas anxiety;AKA= staring at a low light...

Those 1 gallon Reda cans are leak proof & very nice without taking much space.
They are very easy to pack around. Put a small amount of Stabil in the empty tank & your ready to go.
Many HD dealers carry them.

I bought mine at Cabelas.
They are leak proof, but I also put them into a vacuum sealed bag - just for piece of mind.

I have one of these, only issue is it is NOT fume proof ... when you open the saddle bag, you get a face full, not sure that is very safe.
Keven of DK Customs used to use a gas can he mounted on his luggage rack. Not a pretty option, but, as anyone who travels out west knows ... there is lots of wide open spaces. Within 115 miles of my house, on I70, there is 107 miles of lots of no civilization. IE, gas stations. Lots of signs, but, lots of people still don't fill and end up without fuel.
I purchased a RotoPaX 2 Gallon when I had the Triglide. It fit perfect in the trunk and was fume proof. Never needed out, but, was a nice piece of mind.

We had a Goldwing with a California SideCar kit and it had the auxiliary gas tank. It was a nice piece of mind thing to have. Wish there was something like it for the TG, built in...auto fill from main tank.
