Trip in April
Hey Group, I am going to Eureka Springs in my home state of Arkansas in late April. I would like to take some time and go into southern Missouri. Say about 3 days at max. I want to stay off the busy highways. Just take my time and enjoy life.What are some good back roads and some unique places to stop at? Thanks so much for you info.

I think I can help. I will post a link to a recent article in Rider magazine on riding all through Missouri on the backroads. I have taken most of these & it is some of the best riding anywhere. At the end of the article there is a great map you can print outlining the entire route.
Also, if you do some research, there is a group from Trike Talk planning a meet in Eureka Springs (end of May) later this year.

Keep in mind, AR does not have a helmet law. MO does.
If you cruise the backroads into MO, have a helmet on. MO border town police love to stop you as soon as you cross the state line from AR without a helmet.

Missouri Trip
Hey Brother thanks so much I had no clue.
Living in Missouri near the Illinois border, I deal with it all the time, as I like riding into Ill. & traveling up the Great River road along the Mississippi. I just always wear a helmet.

We never really wore helmets until just recently. We've been very lucky but last summer we decided to start wearing them.
Today, the helmets are so much lighter and better looking, so why not. They're not full face but they're enough to keep our melons from bouncing directly on the pavement. I still agree that it should be a personal choice.
Three years ago, we didn't even intend to go into MO. We were on a backroad in northwest AR, and for 2 or 3 miles it runs into MO then back down. A local pulled us over, but he did cut us a little break. He just issued a ticket to me, and not one for my wife.
Anyway, Back to the original post. Eureka Sprrings is a real quirky little town, but extremely biker friendly. Tons of places to hang out with a coldie and people watch. It's also surrounded by miles and miles of back country roads to ride, and they're loaded with great twisties.
