Sena headset problem

I have recently invested about $1200 converting over to the WHIM and wireless headsets. I have two problems, the first is the Sirius radio doesn't come through. It works with the tuner and media. I don't know if there is a setting I have wrong. Also, the intercom works great at below 55 mph. When I get to highway speeds the wind opens up the intercom and shuts down the radio. I have the intercom VOX set to the lowest setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can't help you with the Sirius, but as far as the VOX: do you have a windsock (foam ball) on the mic? If so, have you tried a bigger one?

Don't know about the system on your Harley, in fact have no idea what Harley did on a WHIM. My FLHS is 28 years old and still has a carb.

We do have a set of Sena 20s - what helmet do you wear? We have open face Scorpion EVO CT-220's with a clear faceshield that comes down below our chin. That and the windshield on our trike cut most of the wind. If there is a very strong crosswind the VOX may cut in and mute the radio/music player. In the back Gloria sits higher and farther away from the windshield, so it affects her mic much more than mine. On our old J&M sets we had a switch that would turn off the passenger mic in the event she wasn't talking. They also make a Push-To-Talk switch. Either one prevents wind noise from activating the VOX. Sometime I wish the Sena had such a feature. Gloria has some success in positioning the mic up by her nose and talking louder than normal. Getting the microphone as much out of the wind as possible makes a big difference.

Try cutting of the Vox to the phone in the settings. I have the same problem with my wife but we do not have the HD 20S.

I had the same problem with Sirius after I had the WHIM installed in February it worked fine before I took it in but when I got it back I could not get a good signal to save my life.

I had thought I had moved the antenna outside the fairing last year but when I opened up to check if they had messed up the connection somehow. I found I had actually move the GPS antenna instead and the Sirius antenna was mounted right next to the WHIM.

Apparently the Bluetooth signal wreaks havoc on the Sirius signal when right next to the antenna.

I moved the correct (Sirius) antenna and put the GPS antenna back where it originally came from and everything works fine now.

The Sirius antenna has Sirius molded into it so you will know when you find it. I mounted it to the right of the vent just behind the windshield using a dremel to make a small slot so the wire would not get crushed.

As far as the VOX is concerned bought the HD SENA 20S units last September while on a 1200 mile trip and they worked great without the WHIM.

Once the WHIM was installed we have had some occasional issues with wind noise and we have the VOX set 1 or 2 notches down from center, with that said we only ride with full face helmets and have the microphones pushed up in quite a ways. We only have serious issues at 70 MPH and above so that does not bother us much as we generally avoid interstates or most places that we can run that fast.

Yes I have a sock and I put the largest one on provided which doesn't look near as large as the ones I used years ago. That may help if I can find them
