As some of you may, or may not, know; I also have a '15 Honda F6B 2-wheeler that we use for local rides etc. I bought it after the wife made me give up riding my Yamaha crotch rocket....said I was too old and fat to be laid down on a tank, doing wheelies, etc. and was probably gonna end up hurting myself on it. 67 years old and too old? Too fat???????? She's crazy.
Anyway, the F6 came with an 11" dark gray Madstad shield when I purchased it. I thought it looked kinda "ugly" and had every intention of replacing it first thing. However, after riding that bike for a while, both the wife and I were totally impressed at just how well that "ugly duckling" actually worked. It didn't take long and it wasn't going anywhere regardless of how "ugly" it appeared to be....lol. Plus, I really liked being able to look over the top of the shield rather than thru it, yet not having any wind buffeting while doing so. My wife also liked the way it worked from a passenger perspective.
Back to the trike: well, we've had several shields on the GW/trike over the years. The longest contender to date has been an F4+2 clear that has seen many a mile, and other than having to look thru it, it has served me well with no complaints on my end. My wife, on the other hand, hasn't been quite as pleased. Regardless of how high/low I place it, she just doesn't like it. Liking the the way the Madstad worked on the F6, she suggested removing it from the F6 and putting it on the trike....LOL. No way. I wasn't about to pull it off the F6 and put it on the trike...different setup anyway. However, I did purchase a new 12" dark gray one built for the trike and it finally came in late this afternoon. I plan on installing it tomorrow and giving it a good workout. It will also be interesting to see how it looks and performs on the trike since it's an ever so slightly different design/setup than on the F6. Hopefully, we can find a nice "sweet spot" where both of us are good with it. We shall see.
