Default How Happy or Sad are You with Your Trike Conversion Unit?

I chose a Roadsmith trike conversion in 2013 for my 2012 Goldwing and couldn't be happier, how about you?

My wife and I are very happy with our Valkyrie Trike. We purchased the bike new in 2003 and did a cSc conversion in 2006.

I like the CSC kit that I put on my 2010 Kawasaki Voyager so much that CSC was at the top of the list when shopping for my wife's trike.

We love our Roadsmith, but only after having to completely redo the install. The conversion was done very sloppy and I had to fix a lot of things that were messed up. When we first got it, I absolutely hated it and wanted to immediately sell it for another GW. My wife kept urging me to keep trying. A 1000 miles later, I had the hang of it and actually started liking it. Now, we wouldn't trade this thing for anything....except for maybe a new one.

I'm confused. Was it the sloppy install that made you not like it or learning to "drive" a trike as you state at 1k miles you got the hang of it. This makes me think you finally learned not to lean but steer the trike.

After two years of research and test riding all the different brands I could, choose the Roadsmith and couldn't be happier after 3 years on the Roadsmith. I would purchase a Roadsmith again if I ever update to a new one.

"09 Venture with Hannigan Trike Kit. I had the "build from Hell" but after it was taken to Hannigan, they squared up the alignment, replaced the body and floorboards that were messed up and tweaked the reverse.

Absolutely love it now. Learning curve to ride it was about 20 minutes. I have almost 20K miles on it already.

Still having a problem with your builder? (we both know who your builder is) (Did you ever get your parts back?)

I have to admit I lucked out and totally enjoy my Roadsmith, with that same builder as yours/ was I just lucky, and he built it on one of his better days?? Sorry to hear your problems, but I'm happy to hear that you finely got it straighten out.....

ps> like I said before, your builder will always be a secret between you and I , I will never announce the builder's name ok?

    Ronnie,

My trike is getting a couple things taken care of. I did take it back there because I like the new mechanic. Last year he tweaked a few things on my trike and got it handling sweet. I no longer had to muscle the turns. He brought me back and showed me what he did and why he did it. I liked that.

I still don't have my exhaust and windshield. He was supposed to pay me for them but still hasn't. I'm pretty sure that when I go down to pick up my trike and he hands me the bill for my repairs, I will tell him to deduct it from what he owes me. I think it might be a wash.

Still love our trike, watched it from when it was still a bike, "Wife Unit" and I jumped on it when offered for sale. I have added some mods over the years, and I do all maintenance.

    Default Love my Trike

when I got a little age on me and did not feel save with the wife on with me, I triked it out. it did not take me long to get used to it , I had a 6 deg. rake put on it , for the first 25 miles I thought I had made a mistake, but when I found our I was over steering it. it smoothed out and I love it.

I put a Champion kit on it, just did some reading on different kits and like the room in the trunk plus I like the looks. the shop that did the work did a great job and have had no problems ( installer is the key )

I chose Roadsmith and Papa Zooks 6 Deg easy steer.I did the build and paint myself. I am very happy with the kit. It takes 500 or so miles of riding to get to like the way a trike handles. I am one of the lucky ones, I also have a ultra glide to ride when I want 2 wheels. My wife can ride the trike if she wants when I am on 2 wheels.

I had my '04 Gold wing converted to a Motor trike IRS 2 years ago. While I mostly feel safe on the trike, I do miss the two wheels. As I aged I have become more vertically challenged.(shrinkage!) I sometimes think I should have purchased and installed the Low-Wing bracket (www.lowerwingproducts.com). Does anybody have experience/thoughts with this product?

    Thank You Sir!

I have tried. I even enclosed what was to be a patio to create a "trike room" as my basement door is but 47" wide.
