Goldwing audio question

fuse 21 is a 15 amp listed as audio/acc, fuse 22 is a 20 amp fuse marked battery fuse and trunk, audio, meter. the one that is blowing is fuse 21, this explains why the gauges and truck still work. now there are also separate relays for each fuse, according to the wiring diagram. there may be a possible short in the rear headset wire it was pinched between the seat and frame at one time. im thinking the hard hit was what caused the wiring inside the headset wire to be cut and caused the short. so im going to unplug the rear headset wire, and check the acc relay, just saying a good electronics person should be able to trace a short with this info. I hoping im right. I believe now the short is in the headset wire and has damaged the relay. anyway this is the only thing that could be wrong as far as I can tell. no other wiring damage so this makes sense.

Any luck with your problem? If not you could call Jeff in Service at Sierra Electronics very smart person who maybe could walk you through it. He may have seen it before, they repair the electronics in these bikes. Good Luck(937) 335-8939

we just finished buttoning up the top cover in 100+deg heat. the headset wire was fine, not using it though so took it out anyway, however the driving lights were shorted, these being the only other thing factory on the acc circuit. so I left the driving lights disconnected and buttoned everything else up.

THE RADIO WORKS NOW.

I will attend to the driving lights later.

there is a factory 3 prong black plug on the harness that plugs into the left switch panel that turns on the driving lights. all 3 pins were shorted, so I just left it unplugged. no more short for now. soon I will pull the lower front cover and find out how the lights shorted out.

just for confirmation; I have been on 3 rides now and I am using my mp3 player on the aux circuit again radio is still working. yyyyyyeeeeee hhhhhaaaaaa
