I love my FLRT.But the only thing I hate is that it has more turbulence coming up between the tank and fork than any HD I've ever owned.I know that some have used fork mounted deflectors (fangs) with good results.Dont dig the look.Dont wanna muck up that GORGEOUS front end.So I see DK has these flying nun hat lookin things they call Cooling Deflector Wings. For $60.00 bucks I figure what the hey-if they don't work I'll toss 'em at the pup to play with. They came in the mail this morning.Well finished.Heavier steel than I was expecting which is good.First I used painters tape to protect the tank because my luck sucks.Install took about 10 minutes with torqueing the screws at 17 ft lbs.2 miles down the mountain to the 4 lane.65.70.75. 80. My spectacles didn't do the woody woodpecker against my forehead.Id say there's at least a 60% reduction, maybe more coming up,which is a big improvement.Reached down and felt near the front rocker cover.Yup-air flowing directly to it.Ouch.Burned my hand.Mom always said I was a slow learner.Dont touch the hot stove.Owwwwee!I told you not to touch the stove!
