41# here to.
Just had mine put on 2 days ago, set on 40# right now, I only have 100 miles on it and so far I'm a happy camper.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting...Holy Sh!t What a ride!
I run 38 cold. I end up at 42 to 43 psi at operating temps.
The 38 psi cold works best with the Traxxion Dynamics front suspension for either highway riding or mountain twisties. Tire wear is normal at this psi.

If you have the Traxxion adjustable fork caps, you may want to experiment a little with those settings for your riding style and loads. I finally settled on an a cap screw adjustment of about 1.75 turns counterclockwise from full closure.
I know you will notice a difference. Experimenting with the settings and riding on different terrains is the key.
Enjoy.

Good question.
The trike is pushed hard through mountainous terrain in both North Carolina and Tennessee for a couple of months each summer. The suspension systems, with properly inflated tires, pass the test.
You will eventually find that "sweet spot" tire pressure that gives a smoother front end ride and fantastic steering control.
Ride Safe
I ride 90% of the time solo. When I do ride two up, I will increase front tire pressure to 39 psi.
Keep in mind, I do not have a stock front fork suspension system. I have the CSC rake kit and the Traxxion AK-20 front fork suspension systems that function best at about 37 to 39 psi. The front end ride will become harsh if front cold tire pressures are above that range.
If you have a stock fork front suspension system, then you should probably stick with the recommended 41 psi cold pressures.
Tire wear is even and consistent without scalloping.
I have a Roadsmith with a rake kit and stock forks. I am on my second Avon Trike Tire. I have always run mine at 41 psi cold. The first tire was replaced with a little over 15k on it. The tire wore evenly with no cupping.
Update :
I put new rear tires on the Trike this morning and we found a bulge in my front tire. I have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow get another tire. They told me it would take up to 5 weeks to process a warranty claim with Avon. 😡
Here’s an update on my Avon Trike Tire . My second tire failed with only about 4K miles on it . The tire had 3 bubbles and a small slit in the sidewall. My dealer told me Avon would warranty the tire but might take up to 6 weeks to get reimbursed. My dealer told me it was just a bad tire. I’m curious, has anyone else had an issue with that tire ? I did choose to replace it with another Avon Trike Tire & will continue running it ai 41psi.
I'm either number 3 or 4 and have not had any problem. Several of friends are also running the Avon Cobra Trike and have not reported any problems.
Just on the wild chance, have you compared your pressure gauge with another person's gauge. Might want to do that just to insure you're not overinflating it.

I'm curious too, dropping mine from 41 to 39 for a while, then to 38, see how that feels. Hard for me realize how dropping the pressure 2 or 3 lbs would make a difference, but I'm gonna give it a shot.
Got a little over 12,000 miles with my Cobra and that was running 38-39 cold. Only about 1600 miles of that was in twisties
2002 GL1800 with CSC trike kit
This was my second Avon Trike Tire. I got just over 15k with the first one. I ran it with 41psi cold. The tire wore evenly with no issues. I used Michelin Pilot Activ On My 1500 Trike. I probably got better mileage but the tires were noisy and cupped. As far as my tire gauge, I had an issue with a gauge I used up until 3 years ago. It read about 3 pounds high when comparing it to two other friends gauges. I then went out and bought two new gauges , one digital and the other is a dial gauge. Both read the same.
