Hey Bill!
...these frame mounted Mighty Mites..........well, let me say: "I would'nt even know they were there when the engine's running and stereo on!" (no mass vibration either)
....I was afraid they would blow too much heat on my right side which would cause me to ride with my right leg in the air like a cat lickin' his ass! ....but no, most of the time I rarely feel anything on my right leg that I wouldnt have felt anyway (as with a crossdraft on the motor)...........If my right leg is hot and I turn off the fans = my right leg is still hot anyway!
...I really recommend these Mighty Mites.......Engine likes them!
Cheers!
Bill,
Maybe you can take them off then reinstall them with the engine mount.

Regarding the Love Jugs "frame mount kit" on the Harley water cooled engine:
Oh, and i forgot to mention it.................but the horn bracket that the horn is originally mounted to..the the one that mounts to both cylinder heads and holds the horn......I recommend to just remove it so all the Love Jug brackets will clear everything nicely (that's what I did)........discard bracket mount and reinstall the bolts to the cylinder heads.
......Yes, I know it sounds scary to do this..........but its the only way I found to frame mount the Love Jugs correctly! ....I did much research before I removed the bracket (including talking to Papa Zook on this website forum) and its done all the time as the brackets' main purpose is to just hold the horn.
This is the bracket I'm talking about:
.....if you can figure out how to keep it on "AND" install the Love Jugs frame mount kit, then thats' great....I could not, so off it stays for me! (engine runs just fine and I do not notice any extra engine vibration after removing this bracket)
Cheers!
Cheers!
I'll keep all of this fine advice for consideration but, frankly, I'm getting tired of throwing more and more money at an issue that the MoCo should have taken care of years ago. So far I have already added a Stage 1 with decatted header, Rinehart pipes, high flow air filter and cover (just like the one Kevin uses), and a tank lift and I can still feel way too much heat.
As I was just about to purchase a set of Love Jugs and a Power Vision to further improve things, I realized that this would be yet another $1k thrown into this $35k money pit. Having owned six Harleys over the years, I am coming to realize that I am kind of over the whole H-D thing and may just go in a different direction.
However, I still appreciate all of the advice!

Doug.. have you considered the Gold Wing trike? I have no heat issues with my 2008 GL1800 Motor Trike.
I too looked at the Spyder real hard and liked it a LOT. Took a couple of test rides. I finally decided it just didn’t have the storage space for ME for a long-distance trip...and I am long distance from everywhere. Also, I didn’t want to pull a trailer. However, if I ever get back to civilization where I can just take day trips to go everywhere I want to instead of long overnight trips, I will probably trade the GW in on a Spyder.
Not that I don’t LOVE this GW trike but dealers/mechanics are non-existent in my neck of the woods out here in the wilds of west Texas. I have to trailer it to a friend 125 miles from me to do routine maintenance.
The Spyder Limited touring vehicle has ALWAYS gotten my attention - I think they are SO snazzy-looking! Good luck with your decision!

Carla,
As a matter of fact, I almost bought a GW trike before I bought my first Tri Glide, but my credit union wouldn't give a loan on a conversion. In hindsight, I should have told them that it was a motorcycle and just given them the VIN. It was a really nice trike too.
I'm supposed to ride the 100 miles to the Dothan, AL Spyder dealer tomorrow and check out a 2017 Limited that they have on the floor. It has 2 miles on it, but they won't give me a price on the phone. I hate that kind of sales tactic, but they are the closest Spyder dealership to me.

The Love Jugs should have been your 1st purchase and you would not have needed all the other things.

Thanks Bob, I had no idea that he carried the Spyders. Of course, after our telephone conversation, it looks like I will be hanging on to the TG and adding Mighty Mights, etc. Sorry for my earlier rant, but it's been one of those weeks.

What Doug left out of our conversation that included "etcetera", was the recommendation to get some DK Customs Pro-Action rear shocks adjusted for the weight of Doug and his wife along with some wind deflectors to get some of the hot Florida/Georgia/Alabama heat off of his right leg. The response has been frankly overwhelming how much two-up riders rave about getting rid of the cheap Harley air shocks and going to some better rear shock absorbers. I suspect that if Doug follows through with this recommendation, he will likely migrate up to the front forks and get some DK Custom mods to make the front forks work well with the Pro-Action shocks? Then, he will have about as comfortable a ride as can be had on a Tri Glide.
I just mounted the Love Jugs on my 2011 Triglide. The install was pretty much by the book. I used the frame mounting kit as recommended by Papa Zook. Hardest part of the install was removing the fuel tank.I hardwired fans to battery ,aux. plug in use already. I modifed the HD horn bracket/ cylinder strap by cutting off the horn mount tab. I wanted to keep the cylinders support. Take your time and have some locktite on hand.
Love Jugs are high quality units and Papa Zooks are outstanding|
