    Default Need Love Jugs Advice

I am considering adding Love Jugs to my 2015 Tri Glide, but I am a little confused by what is needed for installation. I understand that I will need the 8 pin adapter, but will I need the Frame Mounting Kit as well as the Vibration Master, or will just one or the other suffice? I saw a reference to understanding the four installation options, but I never saw a link to the 4 options. Any advice, as well as an idea of how long it takes to install the Love Jugs would be appreciated.

On another note, do most prefer the Cool Master or the Mighty-Mite?

I use the Heavy Duty mount that comes with the Mighty Mites no problem so far over five thousand miles. I wired mine direct to battery saves grief in long run, accessory plug interfered with tuner read out just sayin. You will love the fans especially in traffic. Ride safe Fred

If you do the frame mount, you will not need the Vibration Master. Frame mounting supposedly eliminates the majority of vibration. If you horn mount, you will need the Vibration Master. As to which one to get, both the Cool Master or the Mighty-Mite are both efficient cooling system, cooling difference is negligible. I have the Cool Master on my Tri Glide, and that is only because they did not offer the Mighty-Mites at the time. If I had to do it over again, I would go with the Mighty-Mites.

Had the Coolmaster on the Dyna. The vibration master (no not that one) is a must when using the horn mount. I wired them direct to the battery.Loud.Parked outside of Wal-Mart and left 'em on while I went inside."Will the owner with the Harley Davidson please report to the front desk".Being a bright lad I figuered they were talking to me.It seems a small crowd had gathered around my bike expecting it to take off all on its own.Where do these people come from?

I would suggest you use the fame mount. It will eliminate all the vibration. Either fan the Mighty Mite or Coolmaster will do a good job of controlling the heat. www.buylovejugs.com

Thanks folks! Looks like it will be the Mighty-Mites with the frame mount. I really liked the looks of the Mighty-Mites anyway, and Fearless' photo was a help.

Default Oh yeah!!!! Get the Mighty Miites

    Hey cdculbertson!

......I have a 2016 TG (water cooled)........Have not reviewed on this site yet because I put them on this winter and wanted to wait until I had some miles on them....put over 1000 miles on them now and I must say "They are great!"..........I leave them on most of the ride time and have had no more "hot pinging" in bad traffic (like I used to sometimes get in this devilish gridlocked Dallas road congestion)......They sound like mini jet engines when the trike is not running, but when the motor is on and the stereo too = I can't even hear them!

.....May I urge you to get the frame mount kit and these things won't budge from their mounted location when used after many miles (at least mine haven't,)......also, If you decide to go with frame mount kit, then I really, really, really suggest you take your gas tank off before installing these jewels as it will make the installation mucho easier!!!!! (4 bolts) = just remove it.

I'm sure the horn bracket mount is fine too but I truly have read where some claim the fans vibrated too much and came loose on the horn cover mount bracket. (won't happen with the frame mount kit I now know for sure!

....I originally just cut the plug off the fans and hooked up straight to battery....BUT, later I puchased an auxillary power switch kit HD #71400106 and hooked it to the dash switch in the kit so it would not be able to turn on when trike wasn't running (I did this after I walked out of the dealer one day and saw a couple sitting on my trike taking selfee pics as it was sitting next to the new bikes in front of the dealership)

..........I don't know if yours is water cooled on not....probably is........When I got my kit with frame bracket mount, I found it confusing as the instructions were for an air cooled engine.

........With the air cooled engine you have more room to mount the fan bracket........not so with the water cooled engine as I noticed....you will have to mount the fan bracket off to the right side of the frame mounted bracket slot..........see pics (if there is another way, I couldnt see it) .....BE VERY CAREFUL with your fuel line and try not too fool with it any more than is absolutely necessary as it will take NO ABUSE or it will leak! (don't ask me how I found this out)

........anyway, here's a couple of pics below that may explain better.....(the skull horn cover I just added and replaced the stock horn cover)...The gas tank has been removed:

............Bought the Mighty Mites from Papa Zooks place here on this website = www.buylovejugs.com or phone #346-800-7946 (excellent product)

    Cheers!

Okay ... so once again, I'm drawn to these.

Question, when you wire them directly to the battery, with or without a fuse, do they just run all the time or do they cycle on temp ... I'm confused, which is happening more and more lately ...

If the bike is running, the fans need to be running, so yes they run the whole time the bike is running and do not use a thermostat. Tests have shown that even at a steady speed of 65-75 mph, heat increases and the fans can reduce the heat by up to 72 degrees even at speed, this is the data from DK Kevin's test that he published on this site. They do have an on off switch on the fan itself, or you can plug them into an accessory plug and they will turn on and off with the bike's ignition switch.

Being confused happens. Monday I was doing a little yardwork, I came in to wash my hands because I had something I wanted to do that I felt required clean hands.

Here it is Wednesday and I still don't remember what it was I was going to do. Maybe I've already done it, but maybe not.

I had the Cool Masters on my old bike, used the Vibration Master. Got the Mighty Mites from Papa Zook on my '17; no need for the Vibration Master. They are so much lighter than the Cool Masters, they don't really vibrate that I can see. Of course, the M8 in the '17 is smoother. In any case, wouldn't be without them!

    Thumbs up

I have the Mighty Mites from Papa Zook www.buylovejugs.com

Hardwired @ the battery with the supplied fuse

The toggle switch is easy to reach

I run them all the time and have seen as much as 50 * drop in temp

The M8 does NOT vibrate as much as older models

I appreciate all of the feedback and, Rooster, that was some great information as well as very helpful photos!

I see that a lot of you are hardwiring the fans to the battery. Would that be preferable to buying the 8 pin plug?

I had interference from the accessory plug circuit with my Power Vision Tuner so I hard wired it no problems now. With motor shutdown the fans are loud enough to just use switch you will hear them and turn them off neater job in my opinion. Fred

....Well a lot of these dudes are complaining about interference noise after wiring thru dash (and I was concerned about it too) and thats why I originally just cut the wiring plug and wired it straight to battery = and that works great! BUT, anyone could turn those fans on when the trike is off and your away! Originally, I thought that would not likely happen.......but then I noticed people sitting on my Trike at the dealer and could have fooled around with knobs and switches (kids worry me too) and possibly could leave the fans running! So, I soldered the plug back on to the fans and hooked it up to my added wiring harness which had the big Acc. plug (for my Zepplin seat) and the smaller plug which fit my Mighty Mites fans.........I found I had NO interference noise at all on sound system....so, it worked out fine "for me" on "this particular trike"..........now the fans will not work unless ignition (or Acc) is on....I have to activate an acc button on dash to be sure seat and fans have power (which I always leave on)........I suggest to buy the plug and plug to wire harness for peace of mind when your away....If its a problem, whack it off and wire straight to battery! .....Better to have all possible ways to wire it than only one way I think.........But thats just my opinion..........good luck.

.......now maybe these 2017 and 2018 models really dont need to frame mount as they "DO vibrate less"...........but my 2016 and your 2015 vibrates plenty!..so I really recommend the harder to install frame mount version for us.........But its a pain it the ass to install so do yourself a BIG FAT FAVOR and take that tank off before you start! (and go easy working around the fuel line.) Good Luck!

    Cheers!
