Crap I got a quart of some oil my Dad left before they moved many many years ago. Its the old round can that you push the oil spout in.
I would use it in my lawnmower

I think the oil may be like the water you drink......probably a million yrs old give or take a few hundred thousand! lol......seriously, if there is any condensation, pour off the water. I do not know if the additives degrade after time. Maybe that is where the 5 yr. figure comes in?
I also buy by the case (cars and bike) and normally have 2 cases in the garage at all times. I change twice a year for normal riding (5K each) plus a 10-40 change for winter riding (an additional 500 miles).
To me 2K miles is way too soon for syn oil - for dino oil I would though.

Me, I like to buy my oil one bottle at a time, That way it gives me an excuse to go for a ride....So by the time i ride to get all the oil and then the filler and then O rings, I have put on enough miles so i'm ready for another oil change ....Rinse and repeat.............

I would use it in a heart beat.
As long as it has been sealed, go for it. Maybe use it in the trans if you use syn oil. I use Redline in mine.
