    Default Electric Gremlins GL1800

    Yep those buggers are the worst! 2003/2004 GW 1800, Roadsmith.

    Bike is in a no start condition with no power at all when the ign key is turned on. Lots of batter voltage.

    Reading 3-4 volts when checking any metal on the bike from positive batt term to metal. Post to post is normal @ 12.7V.

    I've lost confidence in the bike. This is my 4th GW & have taken lots of interstate trips on my 1500's with confidence so this is a real bummer!

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Unless I'm missing something you're describing a bad ground. Jumper from ground to frame. See if it works.

    Check ALL grounds first

    It sounds like you have a voltage drop some where

    I agree that it sounds like a grounding problem. From the frame to the positive terminal on the battery should read battery full voltage. If you're only reading 3-4 volts I am suspect that your grounding lug has a really corroded connection or the wire from the negative battery terminal has somehow been damaged. It might also be that the main system fuse is bad/corroded.

    You might also check voltage from battery negative terminal to the hot side of a fuse in your fuse box to see if full voltage is there. Key will have to be 'On".
    Wing with Roadsmith kit, Traxxion Ak20 cartridges and Accuride System.

    There's the inaccessible ground point under the fuel tank that gets corroded.
