    Default charging Air conditioner

On a recent Texas Hill Country ride I had to replace the bearing on my wife's 2013 Stallion's air conditioner. Removing the air conditioner I had to release the freon. After assembly of the bearing and air conditioner itself we made it home. Now I need to recharge with freon. Where is the refill valve and how do I go about the recharge.

Welcome to Trike Talk. You will need to put the Stallion on some ramps or a rack to access the service ports. They are located underneath inboard of the right wheel. Just service it the same as you would a car ac. Since you opened the system, you will need to pull a vacuum on the system. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

Greatly appreciated to both replies. I have to admit looking underneath inboard of the rear wheel was one of the last places I would look. Thank you.

    I appreciate the Welcome

The vacuum is important for 3 reasons

    1 Removes moisture

    2 Removes debris

3 If it does not hold a steady vacuum you will have a leak in the system

    Good Luck

A follow up question: is both the high side port valve and low side port valve located in the same general area. The Stallion is at home and I'm in Galveston so I'm struggling with a mental picture until I get home Thursday.

I am not familiar with the Stallion trike AC plumbing

I would guess it is not the same as any Ford car or truck I have seen

Yes, both ports are almost next to each other. As previously mentioned, be sure to pull a good vacuum on the system prior to filling. I'm afraid I can't give the amount of oil used in the system (a/c compressors are pre-filled with oil from Ford), but the 134 capacity is 1.3 lbs.

If you cannot measure what you pull out during vacuum, 2-3 ounces should do it for oil

Whatever happened to just going to a local a/c auto repair shop and after they pull the vacuum, they put in the refrigerant needed according to their gauges? If you don't have the proper equipment and expertise, take it to someone who does! Just my thoughts. Tomg
