v8 trike question

Hello all,

I am building a v8 trike and have an LT-1 Chevy 350 motor I will be using for the power plant. My question is will I need the COMPLETE wiring harness or can I eliminate the sensors that I will not be using? It is a fuel injected motor. What kind of problems will I run into if I just eliminate everything that I will not be using? Will I need to get the computer re-programed? If so. where can I get this done at? Any info will be much appreciated. Has anyone done this before that can guide me into the right direction for info? Thanks all.

I think you'd have more luck with this question on a street rod forum. If it were me I'd look into either converting to a carb setup or possibly a simpler TBI (throttle body injector - basically a carb replacement, not as complicated as full fuel injection).

On my v6 trike 1985 3800 buick I used only the functions I needed for engine management, used the computer from the car with no problems, can't say on the newer stuff. As trikes4ever said you can get special computer & harness although a bit pricey. Caveman

building a v8 trike, got a 99 cadi rear end. IRS style. chevy 350 power plant. My question is what shoud I use to build the frame with? some one seguseted 2"X4" 3/16"s tubing or I've been looking at 2" thick wall pipe First time to build such a monster machine. all tips will be helpfull. thank.

Square or rectanguler tubing is easier to get "straight or aligned" than round in my opinion. Now for the computer Might have a look at Mega-squirt system...may be all you need!

I'm using round 2" x 3/8" wall pipe and it is strong as hell

I used 2" x .090" wall pipe on my frame & I'm running a 500hp big block chrysler! I have never had any problems with flexing. It all depends on how well you brace the frame. My frame is light enoygh 2 guys can pick it up.
