I finally brought the fat girl home

After six weeks i finally brought my MT home from the installer what a fiasco it turned out to be. first i will start by telling you that i went to one installer and explained what i want extra on my trike like a emergency brake and he told me that he does not put them on and would not put them on then i also said that i wanted a six degree rake and he said again that he would only put on a 4.5 degree so I decided to pass on from him because my feeling was he was building my trike his way and not mine.

Evan thow this is all he does it trike kits. So no to the next trike installer we went when i explained what i wanted he told me the same thing as the last installer did but the he said its your trike and your money I will do what ever you want. then he said but lets put the 4.5 degree rake kit in and if you do not like it within 90 days i will install it free of charge for you but i am sure you will be happy with the 4.5 degree .

so i got the answers i wanted so i went with this installer. I dropped my bike off on April 17 and was told it would be done in two weeks well two weeks went by and no trike yet so i called and was told that they are so busy that the sent it out to have the trike built and wouldn't you know it they sent it to the first install that would not do what i wanted and yes they ordered the kit with the emergency brake so for me this was good because this person really does know his stuff.

When we went to pick up my trike which is 2007 cruisible Orange the Kit color was way off it looked almost red and the said that it was the proper paint code and that my bike was sunfadded when i showed them my wifes bike which is the same color and they both are kept in a garage they told me that they did not think MT would repaint the trike kit I politely told the i dont care if they do not want to repaint the trike kit they can just repaint the rest of the bike then because i am not taking it.

Now two and a half weeks later and three attempts to get the right color from MT they finally called a body shop to have them paint it I do not know who payed to have it done but it was not me. So for that i am vary thankful the owner of this dealer ship is a real nice person and kept me informed of what was going on . but when i would call down and ask them what was going on with my bike and his son would answer the phone all he would do is tell me that my bike was in such poor condition from the sun that they might not be able to match it.

When i picked up my trike there where a few blemishes and a few bolts missing on my air wings which must have gotten broke off and they put zip ties in the holes to keep them on the mounting bracket by them. My wife said that i should have them fix them but i said that i said no to many incompetent people working in his shop I am so glad he sent my bike out to have the kit installed.

I went to the body shop to to see if he had and paint left over for some touch up and he came out and i showed him the marks on the side panel and he took it off and went and fixed them then gave me some touch up paint .

So all is good now and all the planets are in alignment again so back on the road for the summer again. Ken

If you had a contract or a work order I for 1 would be thinking of small claims court JMHO

I guess i could have gone talked to some one but then what is the point yes i was frustrated but is it worth having a law suite over someone that broke two plastic bolts on my airwings i dont think so because its just not my style of doing business .

Bottom line is you got your trike and it is satisfactory. Put the experience away and go enjoy the ride. be safe CONGRATS

Most of the Hardware stores carry the nylon nuts and bolts. Shouldn't be a big deal to replace them.

Once that's done ... ride and smile ... the worst is over and the best is ahead.

this is my plan I picked up the two plastic screws and nuts for $.37 and all is good . now to ride the wheels off her
