smoking after putting can of sea foam in gas tank

hows everyone doing tonight. I read where you could put a can of sea foam in the gas tank to help clean the carbs.i put a can in and it started smoking I was wondering if that is normal.thanks

I normally use 1 ounce per gallon when I had my 1500, that's with the tank full. It's probably cleaning out deposits of the ethanol and carbon. After you run the tank out, you may want to change the fuel filter also.

Sam, The recommend dose is one oz per gallon of gas....So one can will treat 16 gallons..

That said i don't think you did any harm to the engine.....When you drive 50 miles or more just fill the tank again,...[no more sea foam]..:D

When you get ready to change your oil, run an ounce or two thru your oil, get it good and hot. This will further clean out more of the gunk suspended in your oil;)
