Having a friendly discussion/argument with a co-worker on how high your windshield should be adjusted.

What is correct-Low enough to just see over the top or high enough to see through it?

You might just as well ask opinions about any of the MANY other personal choices. I prefer looking over but many would rather look through. Does that make one right and the other wrong? NOPE. That is called individuality.

Personally I like looking over, clearer view and when the wind comes over the top it hits the vents in my helmet. When the rain starts I stop and put it up all the way.

It is a matter of personal preference. I like to look over the windshield as it gives me clearer visibility. Someone else may like to look through it. There is no right of wrong answer.

I also prefer to look over the windshield but as has been said it is whatever you decide works best for you, over or through.

I have a stock height windspliter on my bike. I look over it. That's my summer windshield. In the winter, I put on the 2" over windspliter an I look through it.

As stated ... both are good and both are bad ... LOL. Kind of like Oil Threads (can't believe I said that).

I use to prefer looking over the windshield. However, I gambled and purchased an F4+4 and wish I had done it years ago. The head buffeting is all but gone and wind noise has been dramatically reduced at highway speed. Passenger can actually hear the music through her headsets now. View is crystal clear and it does a good job of shedding water. I'm now a happy camper!!!!

I know some who want as large a wind shield as they can get.

I start large and trim it back. I've cut a few down in width / height / for a vent. I like to be looking over the top and see the roadway 3-400 feet ahead when on the level. I seldom run much over 50-55 as we tend to avoid Interstates. I find the vent, when opened a little, makes for less fogging and head buffeting as it lets some of the air piled up on the windshield to pass through, so less rolling over the top.

I often wear a FF helmet on bike or trike, usually wearing Serengeti Drivers (shades) and have the face shield raised, and get no buffeting.
