Hid headlites and LED bulbs

Is there any recommendations for a brand of hid lites for my GW? I am thinking about using 6000k bulbs on the low beams at either 35 watts or 55 watts and standards on hi beams. Also, I would like to replace all of the various running lites with LED's. Is there a recommended source for these.

I currently run a 6000k bulb on my vtx1800r and the lite output is amazing for the small amount of amperage draw.

Any advice or opionions would be greatly appreciated.

It's an HID lite from DDM. Single bulb that moves back and forth in its
socket to change hi/lo position. Works very well and is a 55 watt bulb.
Draws about 3 amps. I have it wired thru a relay and a switch so it can be turned off when working on bike.

I got the low beams as hid. To put the high beams in with the ballast/inverter where most show putting it would require taking the whole fairing apart it appears. Themeters and headlights do not appear to ccome out until the fairing is all apart.

I replaced my high and low beams with HID 35 watt bulbs. The low beams were actually EASIER than the high beams. Just removing the side pockets and the foot warmer control gives easy access to the lamps. It took about 45 minutes for the lows. Now the road is well lighted with a crispier light......well worth the slightly scraped knuckles.

I put on a set of 35 watt 5000 white on mine and the difference is remarkable. The missus saw them on another trike and told me to get them for ours. I bought mine from DDM Tuning and they were 40 something bucks with shipping. Basically it was all plug and play but you have to trim the headlight shim to fit in the wings headlight. If you have an 06 or later its easier and quicker to pull the upper dash to install them.

I have experimented with a number of HID kits. The last being an H4-4 Bi-xenon. I have used both 4300K and 6000K lights. The 6000K are more esthetically pleasing but the 4300K are brighter. I have a 2000 Goldwing Trike and I had to get the templates to install the H4 lights. There are a couple of places I know that sell them. I purchased my HID Kits on line. The Bi-Xenon H4-4 are fairly expensive $170-$200. 4 ballasts and a dual relay harness plus 4 Xenon lights, 2 high/2 low but they are really nice. If you want more info, PM me and I will give you all the ins and outs of converting.
