Built one back in the 70's,BUT, marraige,a house and kids, well you know what happened :)

The first one I used a "gas tank" from the beetle I cannabilized.. I cut the body,at the door frame and went from there. I see a lot of the V.W. trikes with 6 gallon gas tanks, which at the most run 180 miles til empty. I plan on using a stainless steel 15 gallon beer keg as a fuel tank. Enough of plans, what I am asking,is putting a "sending unit" in the keg and setting it "horizontal" and wondering where I can get a "filler" cap? Researched a lot of sites, but, have been hitting on ZERO. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Give Parts Geek a try.......

Welcome to T/T Jerry.

Glad you are now deciding to bet back "into" the trike scene in your build.

I'm not aware of any specifically designed mounting kits for keg tanks, but Speedway Motors has some interesting parts for the building of hot rods and such.

Here's a link that might help you: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/shop/fuel-tanks-and-fuel-cells~6-12-516

Good luck, and post pics as you advance your trike project to completion...

Welcome aboard Jerry. I've seen the kegs taped on the end at the bottom and a sight type tube setup to show the fuel level. Don't know about the fill opening.

Look around at dune buggy parts and marine pleasure craft (ski boat, bass boat) stuff.

I would think a lot of that stuff would useful.

None of it a direct fit. Some fabrications required.
