    Default 2018 honda goldwing conversion

I recently purchased a new Goldwing with airbags and am trying to decide the best conversion kit for this bike. Does anyone have any recommendations. My choices are Motor Trike, CSC and Hannigan. Thanks

Wade, check out this thread on the new CSC Encore designed to compliment the new Gold Wing... We have a CSC trike, not a Gold Wing though, which we love.

Wade look at your installers first. They are the most important clog in the wheel for a conversion. Then look at the other factors for each one and choose what combined works best for you

The top three sellers, from what I've seen in polls, are CSC, Roadsmith and Hannigan. It really gets down to what you like best and what suits your needs. Test ride as many as you can before deciding. Then, after you decide on the kit you want, spend the time determining who your installer is going to be. Like another poster said, that is the most important cog in the gear set. All of the above mentioned kits are well engineered and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. But, a bad installer can screw one up royally. Ask me how I know.

Wade, my 2 cents is Shawnee Honda is close to you. They did a great job on my Motor trike ,also on my daughter in law's motor trike. We are a couple hundred miles from them however they are our go to builder.

CSC is the only builder using the DCT that I've seen posting here, not sure if airbag is the DCT model. Let us know how it goes.

I’ve seen the pictures of the new kits for Hannigan & CSC, but are they ready to be sold at this time.

Good to know, last I read CSC was in the test stage for the DCT. Be nice to know what Road Smith is doing.

Wade, just echoing what everyone else has said so far. Pick the conversion that you like and suits your needs the best.

I can't stress enough what Gorilla said above; regardless of what conversion you decide on, deciding who actually is going to do it is of the uttermost importance.

Get as much info as you can on the conversion outfit and find out who EXACTLY is going to be "spinning the wrenches" and working on yours and their experience level, etc.

The very last thing you want is to have a couple of young, inexperienced, careless yahoos that know NOTHING about a GW or a trike, ripping into it.....don't ask me how I know.

You forgot the most important choice: ROADSMITH.

Get one, you'll think you died and went to heaven.

Wife and I have just returned from a short 13 day ride on our gl1800 Hannigan.

It is the second gl1800 Hannigan we’ve had. Have ridden to Alaska and Newfoundland & Labrador and many more long distance rides.

Ample storage space(have traveled for up to 6 weeks at a time).

    Good rear lights

    Smooth ride

    Absolutley flawless

I believe Hannigan will convert your trike at their factory in Murray,Kentucky so you would know it’s done right. And they are good people.

All of your choices are good kits but I have had outstanding success with Hannigan.

    Advice?

    1. The installer is the key. Can't be overstated

    2. I've owned CSC and Hannigan kits. Hannigan has much better suspension. No monoshock

    3. Very distinctive style. Both of them.

Once again as already mentioned. Kit of your choice. Most importantant is the installer. I bought a used CSC triked 1800 and several things not done right. Cost me just under $2000 to get right

I have a 2016 Wing with a Motor Trike Conversion and love it. The top 3 or 4 are probably very good, but as previously written...The installer/dealer is critical. Probably a good idea to find a quality installer near you.

Good Advice, because I had a hard time writing a large down payment check even though I checked on the references and history of my installer.

And then, there's no 100% guarantee.

In the end, I got lucky with my Roadsmith installer and glad I choose him.

Thank you for the information. From what I have learned, none of the companies have their conversions ready for sale to the public.
