    Default Big Wheel Trike

So who has been adventurous enough to put on raked trees and run a 23" or 26" front wheel?

    If so, details?

    Default Fat tire front end

I would love to see a trike with the fat tire look on the front.

That's a Native Custom Bagger setup I think. I talked to him about that a while back. I believe it ran into more $$$ than a Big Wheel setup.

I did a 21" wheel, which required changing the trees, but I was going for more of a MoCo built upgraded trike look, a CVO trike if you will. I thought a 23 or 26 would look out of place without custom rear fenders, wild paint, etc. One of my buddies said it looks natural. I like that.

Then there's the issue of the side force on the front wheel when you turn, I would be a little nervous about a giant front wheel holding up over the long run. She ain't a trailer queen...

There's not too many wheel options for trikes, as far as matching front and rear. I picked the PM Heathen because it looked to me like that wheel had the most meat in the spokes around the hub area.

Interesting, I thought you could run a 21 with the stock rake or did you go with the so-called Fat 21 which is almost as big as a 23? What rake did you end up with, something around 9 degrees? Whose trees?

Right now I am running a 19 with stock trees and front fender, no issues.

HHI 9 degree trees. They have a good chart on their website, shows all the different bike/trike/wheel combinations and which trees to use.

    It'a not a Fat21, tire is a 120/70-21 Metzeler

Wow, $6K? Must include labor. But yeah, those trees are expensive, $879. $300 for fender. got a package deal on the front wheel, rotors, tire, all mounted, it was $1200. Then the rear wheels were $800 each, and I put new tires on them, another $300. Goodyear assurance at 22psi. Nice ride. I think I spent $100 or so on paint for the front fender. So that's $4379 total. I had to save my allowance for many moons to gather up all the parts. I think I had her apart for 2-3 weeks while I did the front end. Took a couple extra days off work to speed things up...

After finishing up, I find that since the fairing is mounted to the ends of triple trees, now the fairing is raked too, and not enough adjustment for the headlight aim. I tried some spacers under the headlight bucket, looked crappy. So I got the Headwinds raked headlight housing. That thing is nicely built. Looks awesome. Now the OE passing lights don't look so good next to the new one, so I order the Headwinds passing lights. Equally as beautiful, but now that's another thousand for all 3...Can I be done now?Name: headwinds .jpg

Very nicely done!. It does cost to be different. I went the motor route first and bumped it up to a 110. I find it's best not to total cost!

Firewrench22, tried to send you a PM but it was blocked??

Do you feel the raked fairing changed the air flow?

Yes. More air on my helmet. Amazing what a 9 degree change in angle will do. This Klock was the best before the front end job, I have a couple others in the garage attic, if I get feeling froggy I might dig them out and see if they feel any different. I don't want to go higher. I like to look over the top.
