Home on leave from the Navy and watched the landing. Held my breath, like a lot of people, until they touched down. Helped make aft bulkhead parts for the space shuttles later on.

Fake news of course?

Well i have this on authority From a former NASA engineer and on his death bed he had told this to my Uncles sister's Ex brother-in-law's wife..That the whole moon landing was staged...And to keep it a secret from the public, And to the Russians who at time were near to landing a cosmonaut on the moon' So it was not filmed at a Hollywood studio , Instead it was filmed in New York City....[Queens to be exact] At the Sliver-Cup Studios...

;);)

I've always suspected something like that. Now that you have confirmed it, I will sleep much better tonight.

I was going thru basic training at Lackland AFB (now Joint Base). The TI came in and told us we could stay up to watch the landing on TV. 50 guys all trying to watch this on a 27 inch TV. Of course it was still up and at it at zero dark thirty the next morning. It's something I will always remember.

USAF 69-73

I watched every single launch and landing. Some disasters. That SpaceX group is really going to make even more leaps and bounds over NASA it looks like. But you'll not see me being one of the first humans on their ships. I still think those first to try will be very brave just like in the past.:clapping:

I’m waiting for everyone else to leave planet Earth so that I can enjoy the peace and quiet.

:Coffee:

Problem is, an ex-wife, ex-Mother in Law, lousy boss, etc etc would probably stay behind also....:gah: :xzqxz:

I was fresh out of HS. Watched it with friends on TV. I remember the "old folks" going outside to stare up at the moon in wonderment at what was occurring. It was a great diversion to the discord about VietNam. ThumbUp

I heard the best line from a NASA rep. He commented on with all the fake news the Russians are spreading, never have they said the moon landings were fake. That says a lot.

Also, as a young kid, I had my telescope aimed at a landing site when they were taking off again and saw the flash of light.

The Earth, however, is flat.
