Broken bolt

While trimming one of the right side panels for a closer fit I noticed something.

My installer didn't tell me that he broke off the head of the right hand side center stand bolt.

I assumed since he has done Goldwing conversions in the past he would have known that the bolt is a left hand thread.

I have a appointment in a couple of weeks for a couple of things that need to be done.

Wonder how he's going to explain that mess up.

I want the bolt out somehow so I can install the wing guards at a future date.

My 68 Charger had left hand lug nuts on the right side wheels.....And although i changed the tires every time i raced at the strip, I still managed to snap one off every season..

It happens to the best of us.....But that said he should of said something to you about it, Like when you come back in i'll get it out .....

kml354, if you're anywhere near Daytona, the RoadSmith guy will fix it, he's very good. I can't imagine he's responsible for the error, but if so, he will fix it for free I'm sure.

I would not think the bolt will be to difficult to remove. The head of the bolt is what makes the bolt get tight. After it is broke off what is left is just threaded in the hole. I have been able to spin bolts out with my finger by pressing on the end of the bolt and turning. I have welded a nut to them and I have drilled them out. My guess is it will come out with out much effort.
