how long has it been sitting
how old is the gas in it
does it have compression
does it have spark
if goldwings are anything like a Valkyrie, which I assume it should be. make sure the battery is fully charged. a weak battery will turn the engine over fine, but doesn't have anything left to give to the coils to fire the plugs. try jump starting it from a ( non Running Car.) which means, hook the jumper cables to the car battery but do not start the car engine. if your bike fires right up. then I'd say you have a weak battery.
if you installed a new battery did you fully charge it before installing it, a trickle charger will not fully charge a battery, only maintain a fully charged one.
Use a volt meter on the battery and see if it goes below 10.5 volts when cranking, if it does, replace the battery. For some odd reasons, the battery in a Goldwing is the source of many problems. Keep us posted.
While you are checking the battery cranking voltage see how snug the connector lug bolts are. I've found the GL1800 battery bolts have a tendency to work loose. If they do the battery will not charge well and that may indeed be your problem.

Decided to use my towing insurance and get my Honda dealer to check for the season my engine turns over but does not start.
I waited a day and called the dealership to check on if they found anything odd.
The said when the tow truck unloaded my GL1800, it immediately started.
They drove it in the service bay for a day and check out some codes and can't find nothing that would indicate trouble.
They said they started it run it down the street, let it set for 1/2 day and it always started.
Picked it up today, drove it home and now I'm really on pins and needles waiting for it to happen again.
I do carry one of those pre-charged chargers so I'll try hooking that the my battery and see if that will make a difference.
Thanks for all your reply's and solutions to try.

You already know this, but no code and no failure, very hard to trouble shoot. Not what you want to hear, but I suspect you have to wait for another failure, that is up tight riding.
A digital volt meter is your friend. After a overnight sitting the battery should be 12.5 - 12.7. Although you can still get good readings if the CCA is low. After cranking it over with out starting it , then check the voltage. If lower than the readings above it’s shot. If your in doubt of the battery age, start fresh with a new one as cheep insurance. Just a note as I have jap 2 wheelers that will crank over but will not start unless the kick stand is up and brake is applied.

When it acts up, is the trike in gear? Could be the clutch micro switch acting up. If it does it agin, try it in Neutral. Those micro switches aren't sealed and are famous for acting funky. Forgot you said it cranked.
Have you changed out the Clutch & Brake Levers? The Add-on Adjustable levers are known to do it. I had to clean up poor machining for mine to work.

In your original post you said the engine was spinning over but not starting. Does it not turn over or not start? Do yourself a favor and do some trouble shooting. If the engine spins over check for spark. If you have spark check for fuel.
Wouldn't a weak bettery turn the engine over slower then normal?
Is it possible the starter sounds the same but not giving off enough juice because of a weak battery?
Would it start with jumper cables?

Does it still have the bank angle sensor installed? Perhaps it got stuck and rolling it on and off the truck unstuck it. I've had that happen on two-wheelers.
I had one several years ago that had a mis-fire and sometimes wouldn't get spark to start. Pulse Generator Assembly (30300-MCA-003) was the culprit. And WAPITA to get to and replace.
