Default VANDERHALL: Downloadable Owner’s Manuals (PDF)

The Vanderhall Owner’s Manuals are available on-line in PDF format at: https://vanderhallusa.com/manuals/

I downloaded the newest (2018) Venice manual and found numerous spelling and grammar mistakes in it; I converted it to a MS Word

Document and corrected a few for my own satisfaction. And, I added a few things for me as well – a section on how to lift/jack the vehicle up; a section on how the VIN is translated; a simple maintenance log; and I even put some handy quick reference tables in it.

I must say that I think Vanderhall could do a better job with this manual; but, it works……..

    Default Vanderhall manual: Needs work

I printed the manual for the 2018 Venice (V1.2) and marked it up with red ink. What a mess. I agree it needs a lot of corrections, formatting, and completions. I hope they can do better in the future; and maybe even put out an updated version of this one. I see on their website they no longer list the Version number, and have a separate manual for the 2019 model.

Default So how do you jack up a Venice....pray tell!

New Speedster owner here. Would think that a small scissors jack applied to the aluminum bathtub frame near the wheel in question would work well enuff. how do you do it?

Do you do your own oil change? I was thinking of driving it up a pair of short ramps to get to the drain or using a suction pump to empty. And where is the oil filter located anyway? Didn’t search it out when I had the bonnet off the other day.

Thanks for any sharing of your experience with the Venice.

Agreed that the manual is not very informative; especially for those who like to do a bit of their own maintenance or in need of making a roadside tire repair.

I changed my own oil in my 2018 Venice, which is probably the same as the Speedster. I suggest you also check out VENICEFORUMS.COM.

I drove up on ramps. Jacking would be OK also - just not under the front, forward of the "seam" in the frame.

The oil filter is high up on the left side of the engine; get to it under the hood. A cartridge filter is required. Some conflicting info about which one is required. Mine took GM# 25195785 even though the filter cap was labeled with a different number. Use full syn oil. 10mm wrench for drain plug, 24mm for the oil filter cap. Just push the hose out of the way.

I appreciate the responses. Thanks Cool Whip for the details. The seam reference has me puzzled; I will have to take a look. Sounds like ramps might be a good investment either way. Then after finding the seam, etc. I should be able to figure out a scissors jack for road carry. So the filter is a puzzle? Perhaps my dealer can give a definitive answer or supply the filter in question. I wouldn’t use anything less than full synthetic but appreciate your emphasis on that. And finally yes the Speedster is just a Venice without a seat, 😁,

what do do you think of just pumping the old oil out through the filler access, making ramps unnecessary for a quick oil change?

I’m just off the motorcycles after decades of riding; medical limitations on riding finally became too much. Speedster has been even better solution than I thought it might be; enjoying it immensely and piling on the miles daily.

Again, thanks and cheers to all.

Hello Paul, Congratulations on your Speedster! Jack points on the Vanderhall are anywhere on the frame near the front lower a-arms and forward of the fuel tank in the rear. Do not lift on the fuel tank. You definitely need a low profile jack to get under there as the Speedster has the lowest clearance of all the models. To change oil it's safest to use ramps in the front and lift the rear to level. The filter is a canister type, located on the top driver's side of the engine. Two types of filter are used on the 1.4T LUV GM engine. Check the color of the canister cap.

    Black cap = PF2257G

    Brown cap = PF2263G

Black cap has bypass in cap

Brown cap has bypass on filter

Plenty of YouTube videos on changing oil in a 1.4T GM engine.

The seem is where the front clip is attached to the main frame. Everything forward of the engine. It's the radiator, lights, grill assembly and is attached after engine installation.

Only 100 Speedsters were manufactured. What is your dash number?

    Hope this helps.

I pulled up the manual for the Carmel and at times thought they were referring to another model. Oil requirements on the engine cap says 0-20 but manual says 5-30 weight ? Filter on my Carmel is front right as it the drain plug. Drive up on ramps makes it easy to change. Don't understand why they keep mixing measurements in European and US standards. You would think that they would print in the standards of the country they are selling in. Tomg

Did you happen to post the document you created online somewhere? I would be very interested in reading it considering that the manuals posted on the Vanderhall site are so inept.
