One other thing the switch on the clutch handle on the older suzuki's like mine were very prone to failure. Creates a no start. Mine exhibited the same behavior start then don't start. I don't know if the new bikes are the same as the old though.

It would only take a minute to check the clutch switch Lou.
The C-50 requires the clutch lever be pulled in order to crank the engine.
Beneath the clutch lever there is a switch with 2 wires, unplug the two wires and use a paperclip across the two wires and see if it cranks.
