Anyone have any suggestions on a trailer to haul a power wheelchair? I am hoping to continue riding and bring my chair with me. Thanks. I was thinking of a Harbor Freight trailer but am concerned about the suspension having too much bounce. The chair only weighs 245 poounds. Thanks for the help.

you may want to catch up with Wheels and ask his advice. I know he's got the rack on his trike to carry his chair, but a power chair may present a different problem. But I bet he's tried or knows of other systems. Good luck and ride safe....:)

dwhit......any luck with the trailer question?
If your handy with hand tools you could always buy a harbour frieght trailer,. Take off the leaf springs, purchase a set of mini torsion axles. These can be bought weld on or bolt on. Place them on top of the frame, that will it, giving it a low center of gravity (important if chair sits rather high, will also aid in loading) Trailer will be considerably lower than with leaf springs......If too low you can put them under the frame to raise the height but it will still be lower then with the leafs. The individual torsion axles will give a very good ride due to being independent and can be purchased weight specific. (they operate better than leafs with lighter loads)
I realise this may seem a little wasteful, but would probably be cheaper than having a trailer built from scratch. If your not confident doing the work a decent fab shop could make the changes very easily.
Good luck OR....... tell me what you already did.....

Don't know if I should add this but, I hope you don't think I'm ignoring your POSSIBLE limitations. However I never assume someone can't do something because of their disability. You may have friends that can help or you may just want to have it done anyway......what ever the case, Hope I haven't put my foot in my mouth......
Ride safe......

Regardless, stay in the saddle.

See if you can find a older motorcycle camper that you could buy real cheap, and then see if you could find some friends to gut it and build some kind of ramp for it.

I bought the Harbor Freight trailer, but the springs under the axle, made some ramps that fold along side the chair, some 3/4 inch plywood for the floor and some scrap wood for sides. It works wells and tows great. Trailer is light enough that I can lift the back end up empty if in a tight place since I do not have reverse yet.:(
