Hello, I was surprised to find that there was a lot of sidecar talk here as well as the trike talk. I own 2 Electraglides with sidecars. I've never owned or ridden a trike, yet...
I live in north east Connecticut, which has plenty of two lanes, across the hills, and through the woods, awesome riding spring through fall... but winter... well that sucks...
Hope I might be able to contribute here in a positive way.

You might want to take a look in the forum section for the Northeast Trike Talk rally happening near end of next week. In northern Catskills. No too far for you. Even if you just wanted to meet up with everyone for a day, there would be some sort of ride going on.
