Trying to identify rear diff

I have a 1976 Honda CB750A (Hondamatic) trike that I purchased for my wife. The trike kit is supposed to be a dealer installed kit but I can't find any info on it. I plan to tear down the rear axle to inspect everything and replace what may need it, but I was hoping to identify it first so I can have a better lead on parts ahead of time. It is a chain drive differential with 1 grease fitting on it. I contacted a couple of company's from the UK that I found similar diffs on their websites but neither says it is theirs or can identify it yet. I have a couple of pics, will try to clean it up and take some more eventually.

Interesting, how often do you lube that chain drive?

How many bolts hold the sprocket on ?

There are too many questions to ask:

axle diameter and spline count ?

carrier bearing sizes ?

Tough to identify without that info and since it was constructed over 40 years ago.

Thanks for the replies. I just bought it so I haven't done much at all to it. I will get more info, got a lot of irons in the fire right now. I will count the bolts and maybe get a better side pic tonight.

I had to do a little digging around and found some info elsewhere.

Information I had discovered for my Trident trike indicates it has a Jeep rear end, from a CJ-3. The rear brakes are off the shelf Bendix drum units. Probably a Bendix master cylinder too. Probably what came with the Jeep rear end.

Trident trikes were built by an outfit named MCI in the Chicago area

The CX500 was shaft drive, yours is chain drive. This is going to be interesting.

I still haven't had a chance to get any more info. I will definitely get some tonight though, I have to look it over so I can drive it to work tomorrow. My wife will meet me at the DMV after work and take her driving test on it.

no idea what it is...

but the bearings seem to be in great shape at least that on is i would consider a good wash a regrease if you want to replace them should be no problem to replace with out knowing who made it... ver good chance the is a pn on the bearing and the race but it would be where u cant see it if its still together as in picture.. even with no number you should be able to go to a bearing house and have it matched up

Trike is sold. Nice gentleman in north Mississippi is enjoying it now. Wife wants a Can-am Spyder F3 T limited.
