    Default F11 Top Coat

Okay, so I did a search and only found one post about this stuff, the guy basically said it was great, but too, pricy.

I ordered some last weekend for the truck, but, thinking it might work on the limited too and I'm getting a little nervous about putting it on my Limited.

So, has anyone used this stuff, and how did it work. I'm fairly certain that it will make the paint shinny. My concern is will it streak when water hit's it since it's water based? Does it harm anything if it gets on it? Their adds say you can spray it directly on the engine, wipe it down and fire it up. Not sure I'll be doing that.

Anyway, give me your experience with this stuff and maybe I'll put it on my baby. I primarily bought it for the truck, because the truck is a work truck and I don't wash it much and it has some "issues" with the paint and the product says it excels at getting rid of minor scratches especially in darker colors. The truck is black, not much darker than that.

I don't know if this is the same stuff, But my Daughter in law bought a new Toyota truck [Sliver] last year and the dealer sprayed it on the entire truck, They said it was a water based top coat .....And the truck always looks like it was just washed and waxed. ....

Their ads say that dealers are using it.

I use Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax. It's around $7 at Walmart & it's fantastic & can be used on paint, chrome or windshield. I can do the trike in 3 minutes. Its very easy on & off and water based also. Make sure you shake it well prior to use.

I might try that, but, I've already ordered the F11 and I'm gonna use it on the truck, if it works well, maybe the bike ... but that is some interesting stuff. I like Lucas Products.

I was given 3 of their detailing kits & they are great for all vehicles. They contain an applicator for the tire stuff & a nice microfiber towel for the speed wax removal. Here's a link:

    Default Don't Worry

I use F11 all the time on every part of the bike as well as my helmet. Spray on buff it out and done. All I use to clean now is a damp rag and dry micro fiber towel and it looks like I spent hours detailing. Their ad says 2 ounces will do an F-350 Dually. I am going to try it on my truck after I get the hard water spots out. It may seem pricey but I figure one kit should last about a year and the time savings pay for it in my opinion.

So, after using this, do bugs stick? That's the biggest reason I have to wash my bike. Well, Tuesday when I rode it home in between two huge thunderstorms, I now need to wash it again as my black bike is now tan ... LOL.

Your trike looks great. I'm looking forward to trying it.

    Default Topcoat results...

Been using F11 Topcoat for a little over a year. Followed directions and also watched the video on their website. VERY easy to apply and buffs to a high shine with a good microfiber cloth (the cloth used does make a difference). A second coat went on even more easily, using less product. It works on paint, plastic, chrome, windshield, and rubber, just do not apply to seat or control surfaces. It is very slippery. Now, just a spritz here and there for a touch up. Bugs, mud, bird droppings wipe off easily with a damp cloth. Handles our Louisiana rain, heat, and humidity with no problems. I'm the type who likes to try new and "better" products and I have a box of stuff that didn't live up to the hype. Topcoat is the best I've found and I now use it on my Silverado as well as the TriGlide. Makes glass on the truck look amazing and the chrome is like a mirror. It's expensive, but once you get two or three coats on, you use very little for touch ups and it lasts for several months. Very satisfied.

I can deal with the muscles ... it's the two damaged discs that will take time to calm down.

Okay, so it was cooler this morning and I've been jonesing to try the F11. So I get a wet rag, wipe down the tailgate of the truck. Then just spray and wipe. All told, maybe 5 minutes.

Here's a before ... a little dust, but, most of what you see is "swirls" from someone doing a job with a power waxer.

    Name: Tonka Toy Before F11.jpg

Here's an after. Again, wiped with a wet rag, sprayed with the F11 and wiped with a micro fiber towel.

    Name: Tonka Toy After F11.jpg

I was pretty impressed, so I figured what the heck, go for the bike. I would of done the whole truck but two days from now I am doing a cover that will require I go about 5 miles on dirt roads.

As you might know, the bike is vivid black and in really good shape. I had taken it Friday to the car wash and just used a sprayer to get the rain and road debris off. Then I rinsed it with the "spot free rinse" and blew it dry with my small WORX battery operated blower. It looked pretty good, just minor spots from the drips on the ride home.

So, first order of business was to get dust off the bike. I used a california duster. Works okay. Next I sprayed the outer faring with the F11 and wiped it dry with a micro fiber towel. Since it says you need to do this in the shade, I did it in the garage. The faring came out okay, so I did a quick swish of the whole painted parts. I really didn't think I did such a good job until I pulled it out in the sun. WOW ... the painted surfaces look great. I ran my hand over the fairing and the tank and it is really smooth. As you guys have warned, I avoided the control and sitting surfaces. I got a little overspray on the seat by mistake and it was so little I just wiped it with the rag. Mistake. I sat on the bike and it was obvious I needed to get that stuff off before I rode it, or, devise a seat belt. The seat looked great, but, it was hard to get comfortable sitting on it on the side stand. I used some leather "cleaner" and it's back to looking good, but, not nearly as slick.

Doing the tailgate of my truck and the entire painted surfaces of the Ultra Limited, I couldn't even detect how much the level in the bottle went down. Yep, the stuff is a tad pricey, but, if it holds up to it's advertising, a bottle will last quite some time.

All in all, I kind of like the stuff. If the dust doesn't stick like they claim, I'll love it. A black bike only looks good for about 5 minutes after you wash and dry it. If this stuff makes it easier to get and keep it looking good, I'm in.

    Okay, Standard Disclaimer:

I have no affiliation with F11 Topcoat except that I bought the stuff. Trust me, if it didn't work like claimed, I would of told you about that as well.

My wife has used it on her Spyder and can tell you that you really want to make sure the stuff has completely dried and cured before exposing it to dust. She's found 12 hours isn't quite enough. Seems to attract dust more then. But if completely cured it does pretty good. But then we have to travel 3 miles of gravel roads every time we go out so that's not quite fair for any product.

I did a cover job today that required I go 3-4 miles on dirt roads. When I got home, I took a "California Duster" and just swiped it across the tailgate. Looked just as good as when I did the actual application.

After doing the bike Sunday, Monday, I took the bike to get an allergy shot and run some errands. I had coffee in a 32 oz Butler mug, hit a pretty good bump, coffee came out the "straw" and covered the right side of the tank. When I got home, it had dried. I dampened a rag, wiped the tank, spritzed some more F11 and it looks just like it did Sunday.

Pretty amazing results on both the truck and the bike. Can't wait to get the whole truck done. Held off because I knew the truck would be on a 6-7 mile round trip in dirt, didn't want to do it twice.
