Hi John and Doug,

Just trying to keep this rally alive!!

I have already sent in my deposit....LQQking forward, to another wonderful weekend..........:clapping::clapping::clapping:

Ronnie

Hi Everyone,

I stopped by the Acra Resort in Acra NY today and we have 13 rooms filled for the trike rally in August. Finally getting decent weather this weekend, if it stays this way, for the rally, you can't ask for any better. Deep blue skies today, not a cloud in the sky and probably in the low 80's. So far every year, the weekend before Labor Day has been really nice up here in the Catskills....

This seems to be an increase from the last two years and hope we more of you to join us.

Ride Safe....

I hereby declare myself the “king of the procrastin.....hang on a sec. let me go chase that butterfly....OK, I’m back. Now where was I? Oh, yeah....ators”.

Just booked my room yesterday, then confirmed with the big boss that she swears she will be healthy enough to make it up there, even if I have to trailer. Then double checked with the 2nd level boss at work that I can cut out that Thurs/Fri.

Now if only the trike is fixed by then. Just lost 30 teeth on drive belt doing some fancy accident avoiding maneuvers. Rode home 30 miles being VERY careful with accel/decal and never stopping completely. Helped it was after midnight. Since whole rear comes off for belt, figured a good time to replace shocks with some of the DK ones. Also getting complete 150,000 mile service done. Waiting for trike lift to be free, hopefully this week at independent shop I use.:qpnmt:

Hey Andrew, glad to hear that your coming, it's going to be a good rally this year, hopefully the weather gods are still on our side. At least it was only the drive belt that was bad and not the sprockets. I did a pre-rally ride with a friend 4th of July weekend and he wanted to stop in a Harley dealer in Albany. A couple from Oregon was there and a few weeks before had to have his drive sprockets replaced, I guess it was an expensive job. Hopefully with a month or more to go they will get it done.

Did you ever sign up for my personal facebook page : Northeast Region Trike Riders? I don't know what is happening here but it's like no one ever signs onto Trike Talk that much in this area anyway. I know who is attending the rally but I'm not seeing any traffic from other Trike Talk members, people who have attended a rally in the past and if they are or are not attending this year. It also helps to get input to plan additional rally's. We do this for the Trike Talk community and it would be nice to have some participation. There were a few people that are not that far from the rally site so it's not like a long ride. Oh well we will keep plugging away.

Hey Doug. I am not on Facebook. Too busy riding. So also no time to post much anywhere.

Did I miss any list to officially sign up for rally on? Dianne always asks me who else is going and I say it’s a) none of her beeswax and b) a surprise and c) I have no clue.:qpnmt:

As far as sprocket, it looked OK, but they probably need to look closer when on lift. Belt wasn’t bad, it was just that drastic a maneuver. Worst that happens, I bring 2-wheeler up again. Tooling around CT this week. E. Hartford, New Haven and Newington so far. Not sure if I will get home before Barry’s remains blow into town.

No problem on FB, wasn't sure what was easier for you....last year it seemed everyone had some sort of a problem with the file I made on Goggle and linked to here. This year I thought I would try and do a simple sign up list on FB and it was working fine for a while. I think the problem is that in order to add your names, it also gave permission to make other changes and it disappeared. Unfortunately I couldn't recover the list but Lucky has been working on a head count for prizes. I did stop at the resort Memorial Day weekend and as of then, 13 rooms were reserved.

I think almost everyone from last year is going, plus Moe (Moe and Linda) is joining again this year plus there is a large group from Pa I believe. Your group will be there and can do the Disco Duck again!!!! Are you planning on heading up earlier n the week again?

Nope. No early trip this time. Barely sneaking out of work for Thurs. Advanced training happening that week, but mostly on Mon-Wed. Since Diannes health isn't great, it will be a crap shoot if I take trailer or not, even with trike. They still can't squeeze it in to do the work yet. At least I made it back from CT tonight before all these good storms on 2-wheels.

Still looking forward to the trike rally.............May I ride up with you again, like I did last year??? {FUN was had for sure} :D:D:D

Ronnie

PS: Just trying to keep this post alive

No problem Ronnie, we can meet up that Thursday morning somewhere along the way, maybe even have you rider further south to Winsted and we can shoot out Rt 44 across the top of Ct and then into NY. I'

ll be in touch as we get closer and figure out who is riding with us heading out.

Been a while since my last Trike Talk Rally, but I just made my reservation. Will be traveling solo this time, as my wife is visiting her sister in NH. Will ride up to join her after this rally. Looking forward to seeing everyone! Leo

Finally was room at shop to take the trike. Not 100% hopeful of it being ready on time. 2 wheels still working fine. May have to trailer up 2 or 3. Depending on how Dianne is doing. Getting out patient surgery day before. No way to predict how she will be doing rally day. Only 120 miles with ferry.

Oh, and I’m thinking of karaoke of Born to be wild to celebrate 50th anniversary of the movie Easy Rider. Below is pic of me and Peter Fonda in 1990. No, not a joke. That really is me in back. And no, I don’t know what happened to me since.

Did I say 2-wheeler? I meant bicycle with Dianne on handlebars. On the way to NJ today. Seemed to have fried stator and more. Near Verrazano bridge. Squeaked back about 50 miles on my electric personality. Down to 8vdc before it was about to die. Managed to get off hywy into parking lot. Waiting for MoTow right now.

I'm thinking bungee cording Dianne to skateboard and pull her along on my roller blades at rally.

Did I mention I can smell the melting plastic?👃I certainly hope that is a “nose” emoji.🤡

Counting down the days, 17 to go until the Northeast Trike Rally in the Catskills......stopped at the resort today and we have 17 rooms booked now, the resort has 13 two bed units and 4 one bed units left open. These rooms are available to anyone or group and this year the resort has seen an increase in business. If your thinking of going, get your room booked as soon as you can before they are gone...

See you all soon

The rally is on

Only a week left Still if you are interested we will try to get you a room. If your reading this and don’t know about the North East Rally. It takes place on that 23rd of Aug. This is a true rally. Trophies , meals , rides. Raffle prizes.

Staying at an all inclusive venue. ( full breakfast ( 3 course Dinner, happy hr open bar, club prices after that , live music , )

We are having it in The beautiful hills of The Catskills NY. No better ridding anywhere. Great group this year. Looks like 35 / 45 people. If your reading this next week. Sorry we missed you.

No problem Ron. Will meet you and ride with us. I’m having separate-tic alternator charging. I’m

Bringing a spare. Can change it in 1 hour. Bringing tools I’ll give a class on Goldwing repair 😂

Wait, Goldwings need repairs? That’s not the myth I heard.

On that note, got the 2-wheeler back from repairs (not hopeful of 3). Turns out the spinning magnets in middle of stator came apart tearing everything apart. So, I pretty much expect to be trailering that up there. Also hoping weather forecast a week ahead is wrong as usual.
