I have a GL1500 fitted with a Tow Pac and was looking at getting a Valkyrie. Will the kit transfer? Tow Pac want to sell a new kit but I thought the Valkyrie was just a stripped down Goldwing?

Welcome to the Gang from Western Colorado.
Although the Valkyrie is Kind of a stripped down wing, I would look closely at the differences. I'd worry about safety
Thanks for the welcome guys. Down here in New Zealand we've just started Spring so looking forward to plenty of riding again ☺
Welcome to the trike group from Monroe, NC. I am interested in hearing how this project goes for you. I currently ride a trike and own a 97 Valkyrie. I am considering going back to just one bike and considering doing something with the Valkyrie. I am considering one of these type outriggers. Some have told me that since I know what a real trike feels like I will not be happy with an outrigger system. You must like it seeing that you want to stay with it. Does it teeter side to side like some have stated and does it handle well? Thank you,
I have never ridden a standard trike. However, I have owned two Spyders so do have some idea of three wheeled handling, in that they corner flat and you have to lean inwards slightly or risk lifting the inside wheel.
The outrigger wheels have adjustable torsion bar suspension and are set to have a downforce, so there is no flopping from side to side. Mine are set to require a sharp tug upwards on a spoke to break traction. On a Goldwing the rear air suspension is reduced to 45psi to spread the load across the three rear wheels. I have the 14" aluminium wheels and most people don't even see the middle wheel and just assume it's a trike.
There is an optional folding bar that fits to the Tow-Pac and allows it to be towed behind the bike like a trailer. So you can change from trike mode to bike mode in about 10 minutes, but still take the wheels with you to refit later, should you feel the need. Try doing that with a normal trike 😉
FLUB, I have a Valkyrie and a true trike. I am considering going with an outrigger type of set-up on the Valkyrie and selling the Suzuki. I take it you are very satisfied with the Tow-pac? I have had other riders tell me I will not like the add-on trike wheels as the bike will teeter on the center wheel and the handling is different verses a true trike. The only brand I see on the market that advertises that there is no teetering is the Richland. Your post here is the first I have read from an owner about how their outrigger kit operates. Thank you,
